Butterfly
Too often I hide in the shadows of myself,
my wings timidly pressed together,
denying the colourful pattern,
showing only the dull, protective underside.
Help me
to open my wings like petals,
to lie still, unfolded, transparent before you,
to trustingly offer my soul to your sunshine caress.
