The Friend in my Ear

She knows my name

She knows my deepest thoughts

She magnifies my fears and

Begs me to give in

Her reckless whims take hold

And seize my will to live

She tells me I should die

And I have nothing to exist for

She hides inside my ear

And whispers to my mind

She has the best ideas

Devices for suicide

I tried to defy her game

But she has made the rules

She resurrects my gallows

And hands me the sweet noose

She tells me all are lying

And only she knows truth

She makes me think

That she’s the only one who cares

And I have to believe her

I bear the rope choker now

And kick the stool away

She leaves me hanging, swinging

And I can hear her laughing
