The Coming of Night

By: Alison Guillot
Hello again it's only me
The angel of the night
And with me comes the soothing dark
To chase away the light

On wings of purest black I come
From (the) east unto the west
To spread my peace and solitude
And lure the world to rest

Each night I watch as true love blooms
Under starry moonlit skies
And I listen to the sorrowed sound
Of a lone wolfs baleful cries

Into and out of the dream world I fly
humming my starlit tune
bringing visions of comfort to wearied minds
beneath the pale yellowed rays of the moon

But with the good so comes the bad
spread:ing: chaos and death
And someone may indeed tonight
So take their final breath

Yet it is I think a foolish dream
Banishing the night
For with out the darkness who can say?
what truly is the light?

:For: *within my prescience I do hide
Both predator and prey
And so it seems they both shall live
To see another day

I did not choose this path in life
Nor shall I turn away
So evermore ill heard the night
in darkness I shall stay

----------------------- Till morning I fly free and wild
throughout the starry skies
silent and observing all
with ever watchfull eyes

Oh drat here comes the dawn and sun
my time here now must end
but never fear I shall return
and darkness I shall send
