"Absolution"
by Damascus Ochre
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Her poison lips upon my skin,
Gentle caress, paper thin
Membrane over dreamer's eyes,
A dreamer drowning in his lies
Of darkness pending and diseases.
Human nature, never ceases
To amaze in contradictions;
One gets lost in the addictions
For her toxic kiss of death;
Don't be scared, just miss a breath
That's insignificant to your life.
Lie here on the floor and heave a sigh
To be left uncomplicated,
In this life he's always hated,
Of candy dreams and blissful lies:
The place where wishes bloom and die.

"He/His" equals the dreamers of the world, the artistes that suffer and are
contemplating death. "Her" represents an advocate of death (because Shi-san
himself is male ^-^--sorry, Chaotic Paradox thing); basically, "She" is the
seduction and temptation women usually tend to personify, the poisons that
men (and often other women) tend to succumb to in the darkest of hours.
Finally, "My" is the already-dead, those artistes who have already fallen
and are reflecting upon their new lives. Seeing the comforts of death, they
compare it to how human nature is so hypocritical and how life itself is,
to artistes, artificial in its superficialities and its representation of
being the birthplace and graveyard to dreamers' dreams. Thus, they try to
pull their suffering comrades to their realm, coaxing "Him" to be calm and
accepting of "His" absolution.
Yep. Pretty stuff. I'm just surprised there's nothing about razor blades,
and that the main chara appears to be quite female, in that "my" is...well,
me. First time I wrote something about death that didn't involve any metal.
And it's also one of the few whose paragraphs meld into the next but can be
seen alone, as well.
Sorry, I like to explicate my own poems. English Honors kinda does that to
you lol. But it's still the best class. ^-^
