E-mail My Heart

Chapter one:

Have you ever had one of those weird kooky days that just didn't make sense? Well that day was the start of a weird new life for me. You see that weird kooky day just so happened to be the day that my Fiancé disappeared without a trace. All his clothes were gone all his furniture was gone. His cell and pager were disconnected. It was as if he didn't live with me.

I went around the whole loft looking for him. I called his name and everything. He was just gone. I noticed that the computer was still on. I went to it and saw there was something written to him.

Jake

If your going to leave her you better leave her tonight. I've got all the moving trucks ready and everything.

XxXxXx

Love Jocelyn.

As I stared at it so many things went through my head. I couldn't believe he cheated on me. And with someone named Jocelyn. He was my fiancé! I stared at the engagement ring and threw it on the ground.

How could he humiliate me like this? I loved him! I stormed into my bedroom and got dressed. I walked hurriedly to the coffee house where I knew at least something's would change.

I walked in and noticed something was off. I walked in slowly and avoided the new crew of people. I made it to the cashier. " Um, Alec do you notice anything weird here?" I asked.

" Oh you mean the computers. The BB got us to install about twelve of them in each store to further our business. He said something about getting 'digital.' He even sang the song. ' Let's get digital!"' by the way the 'BB' is Alec's name for his boss because his boss is rather large. BB stands for Big Boss.

"Wow." I said looking around at all the computer geeks.

" I'm assuming you want one low fat decaf latte?" Alec asked turning around to the coffee machine.

" As usual." I sighed. " Jake left me for some chick named Jocelyn."

" Weren't you guys engaged?" Alec asked over the coffee machine.

"'Were' as in past tense." I sighed as he passed me my latte.

" Wow, I thought you guys were in for the long hall."

My eyes brightened as Alec said this. Alec had never liked Jake I never knew why exactly but I know that they weren't exactly the best of friends. " That's so kind of you. But he is gone out of my life. Forever."

" Well as much you know that I'd love to be your rebound guy I've got Emily back home." Alec said as he was whipping a counter up.

" You're so kind but I could never do that to you." I glanced over at the computers it amazed me at how many people were actually using them. " So what's the deal with the computers do you need a pass or something?"

" Actually yes. Just give me your E-mail and I'll sign you up." Alec handed me a sheet with conditions for using the coffee house computers.

I started filling it out. " I don't know how I'm going to tell my parents." I said as I was filling out my name.

" You mean they don't know?"

" I didn't even know until this morning."

" I truly feel for you. Say, Emily is coming for a visit tomorrow you want to do something with us?"

" Oh no, I don't want to intrude. Besides I've got overly priced soap to sell." I handed Alec the papers. " Sorry but I've got to go. I have to speak with my parents so I might as well do it now."

"Here's your E-mail name." Alec said handing me a piece of paper that said .

" What's ?" I asked.

" Oh it's The Coffee House dot com. Think of it this way. The worse thing that can happen to you is that your parents cut you off and you have to live on overly priced soaps."

"Alec shut up and do your job." I said leaving the coffee house.

I walked to my loft sadly thinking about Jake. I can't believe I flew across the country to find a new life and just when it starts getting good my fiancé ditches me for someone named Jocelyn!

From the distance I heard my name being called. I turned to see who it was. Surprise took me over. It was my sister.

"Jenna!" she called to me. She waved her hand around cheerfully. She caught up with me and looked genuinely upset about something.

" Okay you came all the way here from New York to wave your arms around like an idiot calling 'Jenna, Jenna!' why?" I asked dumbfounded.

"I can't believe it, I saw the most horrible thing on my way here to tell you something horrible!" she cried.

" What did you see?" I asked her.

" Jake cuddling up in a car with . . . with . . . a MAN!"

"Cuddling?" I asked. " Yeah right." It couldn't be true. Jake gay? What about Jocelyn?

" No they were cuddling and kissing and oh my gosh!"

" Jake is not gay." I said a little forcefully.

" Jenna the man can dress, and he loves to shop. How many twenty two year olds do you know with five Armani suits and Gucci glasses?'

I could feel a lump in my throat. " What else happened?" I asked.

" Dad's getting married." She announced.

" I leave for university for one year and mom and dad are divorced and he's getting married already?" my life could not get any worse.

" And I'm HIV positive." Elsie said with tears in her eyes.

Okay so maybe that isn't true. I made up the whole HIV thing but it could happen.

" Yeah I guess it's your fault that our family is breaking up. Or maybe your life just sucks?" Elsie said she checked her watch. " I just thought you should know those slight little details before I leave."

" Um, well. Jake left me this morning."

" Hmm . . . he left you for a man. Typical." Elsie said getting a cigarette out of her purse " later, babe." She said walking away."

Feeling a little down and not exactly ready to inform my parents about my broken engagement I went back to the coffee house. I sat down on one of the computers. I typed in my E-mail and it let me in.

Apparently I had two new E-mail messages. One was from the coffee house. The other wasn't. The other came from a distorted email address that made no sense. it had to be Spam. Feeling curiosity taking over me I opened it. I knew I shouldn't have but I did it anyway.

The message said.

Dear J,

Here's the heads up, Jake's leaving you tomorrow in the night for a cross dresser.

Love, A -for anonymous.

P.s. if you want to contact me email me at

I couldn't believe it. Someone sent this to me yesterday. And they knew that Jake was going to leave me. But how? I wasn't even signed onto till yesterday. It was sign 'A' it had to be Alec.

" Hey, Alec. I was wondering did you send me any emails about Jake?" I asked as if it didn't matter.

"Jake? No why?" he asked cleaning a coffee mug.

" Take a look at this."

He read through it for a second. " Looks to me like you have an anonymous observer." Alex summed up.

"I've never had one of those." I blushed. " Do you think he's a stocker?"

" I don't know. If I were you I wouldn't respond."

But he wasn't me. So I decided that when I got home I would reply.
