Years past and the boy grew older. Hiding his wings and going on as a
human. Coming along, once again, to the forest he once began his journey,
in little did he know that it was where it would end.
The boy walked along the only path of the forest. The day was nice
and warm. Nothing out of place yet all seemed to be wrong. He walked along
and wasn't expecting anything to happen. Then he came across a girl next to
the stream in which he had to cross. The girl was sitting there looking in
the water. He knew that normal humans never stayed in the forest longer
then they had to. He walked over to her and tapped her shoulder. She looked
up at him smiling; she looked so familiar. She stood up still smiling.
"You come to visit?" she said with an echo in her voice.
"Visit?" he asked. "To what am I visiting?"
The girls smiled weakened a bit and she looked at him with and soft
sadness in her eyes. "Have you forgotten about her?"
He just looked at her. He forgot no one he helped or went against.
"Whom have I forgotten? When have I ever come across this forest?"
She smiled no more, he eyes filled with sadness. "You forgot the lost
one haven't you? How could you forget her.?" Her very being faded and she
soon disappeared.
"WHAT?" He looked around for the girl. "Hey wait!" he waited for a
response.
"How could you have forgotten her."? That was the only thing that her
had heard in reply.
He stood there and shook his head. He knelt down for a drink. He
drank a little then stood back up and crossed the bridge. When he had
walked about 10 paces from the bridge he heard footsteps. He turned to see
the girl standing on the bridge silently with silent tears rolling down her
cheeks. He just looked at her in wander.
"Who are you.?" He asked finally.
"The forgotten one." She said. He looked at her not saying anything.
She looked into his eyes with little hope. "Please don't leave." He looked
at her with surprise. He heard those words before but where. They stood
there for a moment in silence then the girl once again began to fade.
"Please." She repeated, "Don't leave." She faded away and the boy just
looked at where she just stood. He turned silently and walked on, thinking
it was a trick of the forest. He came to the middle of the forest and the
sun had already set. The clearing in the middle was descent sized and he
decided to sleep for the night there. He made a small fire and then he laid
down and looked up at the stars. It was blacker then anything around him
and it was strange for he never saw a place that black.
He lay there for a while not doing anything and just thought of the
girl. Where had he heard those words before, and who was she? The fire got
dimmer as he lay there but he took no notice. He just stared at the stars
thinking, trying to remember. The fire slowly went out and when it finally
did he took notice. The light from the stars still lit the clearing but the
shadows around him started to close in. He looked around and realized what
was going on. He heard footsteps behind him.
He turned to find a girl there. The girl was shaking from the cold
and what looked like fear. She looked into his eyes hopefully. He just
looked at her not moving.
"Please don't leave." She said; then he remembered. She was the girl,
the girl that was taken from him. He took off his cloak and wrapped it
around her to warm her. He wrapped his wings around them both and he held
her close.
"Don't be scared. I'm here now. I won't leave you." He whispered to
her softly but comfortingly. The darkness still darkened and he held her
closer keeping his wings around her shielding her from the horrors and evil
that surrounded them. She leaned in close to him and he held her firmly but
gently. She laid her head against his chest closing her eyes, as she feared
of being taken away again. "Can you hear it?" HE asked her.
"Hear what?" the demons around them were screaming and fighting there
way to get closer. "All I hear is the shadows."
He smiled and whispers softly to her. "Listen to my heart." Then over
the screams as she lay her head over his heart she heard it softly: the
heart of an angel. "It beats for you... let it give you strength." He
closed his eyes and continued to hold her. She felt him give her strength,
strength enough to help her survive. But she felt him weaken slightly,
weaken enough not to be able to win.
All went silent suddenly and she continues to listen to his heart for
she held onto its rhythm with all her heart. A Demon shadow darkened over
them. The boy put one hand on his sword and the girl opened her eyes
looking at it not saying a word. Was he strong enough to over come the
demon? The demon broke through the light around them that the boy created
and all at once drew its sword. The boy pushed the girl away just as the
monster put its sword through the boy's heart.
The girl looked terrified. The boy fell to his knees still one hand
on the hilt of his sword and the other keeping him up. The demon glided
past him to the girl. Neither the boy nor the Girl know why the Demon
wanted her so much, all the boy knew was that she could not hide forever.
The demon was in front of the girl and was just about to pass her
into the other world of Demons when the boy stood on his knees and through
the sword all at the same time. The sword went through the demon killing it
instantly. The demon and the shadows around them disappeared. The stars
came out and the sword vanished leaving the boys wound. The girl ran to the
boy and caught him right before he fell forward.
"Why?" The girl asked as she held him close.
He smiled softly, "Because I love you."
She looked at him suddenly and he looked lovingly into his eyes. She
didn't say anything. The boy screamed in pain once and then fell forward
into her arms silently.
"NO!" She screamed and held him close and tightly. His breath was
shallow and his wound would not stop bleeding. His wings no longer glowed
and were covered in his blood. She put his ear to her heart and whispered
to him softly. "Listen to my heart dear angel." She stroked his head
lovingly, "It beats for you. let it give you strength. please don't leave
me.." Faintly he listened to her head. But he refused to accept her energy.
"Please."
He smiled softly and whispered to her, "Never forget me. and I'll
never leave. I love you." he went limp.
"NO!" She held him tightly and close to her heart. "Don't leave me-
please." She cried and cried as hard as she could. "I love you." she
whispered and kissed his forehead. "I love you."
She reached the edge of the forest. Her eyes still tearing as some
tears escaped and slid down her cheeks. She walked past the last few trees
and saw it. After all these years she made it. She looked out over a
perfect world that she and the boy were meant to live in. but she was
alone. She stood there for a long time. She took out the lone feather and
the locket that she had. He had given her the locket long ago when they
first met. The feather was covered in blood and she held them both close to
her heart. She looked out past the world ahead. She was scared.
She remember him so clearly. She looked out picturing his wonderful
face in her mind. A feather fell from the sky and she caught it. She opened
her hand to find it was a feather like the one she had. She looked up to
find an empty sky. She wandered what happened to angels when they die. She
felt arms wrap around her waist. She began to tear as she looked up at the
sky.
A sweet kind voice whispered in her ear. "Don't be scared. I'm here
now. I won't leave you." She smiled and turned to find the boy.
He kissed her lips softly.
Lightning..
She looked out the window. It was raining and every now and then there
would be lightning. He took her hand and she looked at him.
"You ok?" He said softly and lovingly.
She smiled. "Always will be." She leaned her head on his shoulder and
put her other hand on her stomach. He put the hand that wasn't holding hers
on her hand, on her stomach. "Will you ever tell me where you got that
scar? On your left shoulder over your heart?"
He smiled softly and whispered. "That was many lives ago." He kissed
her forehead. "In my past. I got it saving the one I love a long time ago."
She nodded once. "Ok." She paused and they sat like that for a while.
"Please don't' leave me."
He kisses her head lovingly three times. "I wont' leave you."
The doctor came in with a smile. "It's 100% positive. you're
pregnant."
They smiled and went home after that. The car ride home wasn't long
and when they got home he carried her in. He laid her on the bed then he
laid next to her. They held hands looking at the ceiling and thought about
a million thing.
"You know angel. I had a weird dream while I was asleep in the waiting
room." She looked over at him.
"What was it about?" He smiled looking into her eyes.
She cuddled close and he put his arms around her. "It was about you
and me. how you got that scar. but it was impossible."
"Hm?" He kisses her head. "Well, why not tell me about it?"
She smiled closing her eyes. "You know how I call you angel. Well in
the dream you were an actual angel. with wings and everything . I was still
a normal girl. this dream took place thousand of years ago though but we
were caught in a forest and a demon took me away.. You eventually came and
saved me. you died. But at the end of the dream since you were an angel.
you came back to me. and then the lightning woke me up."
He smiled. "I want to give you something." He got up and walked over
the dresser and pulled out a box. He came back and handed it to her. She
smiled and sat up. She opened the box and found a locket, and two feathers:
one clean and one blood stained. She looked up at him amazed and smiled.
"It was.?" he nodded.
He looked at her softly and sat next to her and opened and spread his
wings out. "I love you."
She smiled happily and dreamily. "I love you too."
He held her and whispered in her ear. "Don't be scared. I'm here now.
I wont leave you." He kissed her cheek. "I promise."
He kissed her lips softly.
