Upon their journey the stars descend
To lands far off, to find an end
I saw one streaking 'cross night skies,
Its fleeting splendor broiling my eyes,
I reached for the sky as if to grasp her
But she only seemed to fall away farther,
And yet like the moth I keep on flying
To the flame so brightly burning
And if it's inch by inch I get closer
Then by Cyprus, it's inch by inch I'll reach her,
The falling star, upon the starless twilight
So out of reach, yet bewitching me at night
Ages ahead in the race
But bit by bit my feet keep with the pace
