She looked in the mirror
And looked into her face
And thought of some ways
To get out of that place
She wished that she could
Just runaway
Far away to
A friend’s house someday
But also thought of
The odds and the chance
Of crying when she gave
Her home one last glance
So go to the kitchen
And find something sharp
And hears some of Heaven
Playing flutes and a harp
It came near her arm
And so near to her wrist
But one thought just came
That she’d never be missed
The knife clattered down
And on her knees she had wept
For this was her first
Frightening suicide attempt
She wished for a way
To have death as her host
Oh, where were her friends
When she needed them most
She looks in the mirror
And looks into her face
And thinks of some ways
To get out of this place
