Sacred bread begets pure thoughts

The fighting over useless things lame and futile

Through the pain and desolation of empty stomachs and emptier minds

We learn that through suffering comes devotion and truth

For those who serve that hallowed last meal that saves a life

We follow to the ends of the earth

The blessed words of the giver shake the foundations of every religion

But we shy away from his prodigious vernacular

Simply because it is beyond comprehension

The thought that anyone or thing could be solved by a lack of violence, by a lack of hate

Strikes a dart into the protective bubble of safety we call society

He fought against the morals of his time, the fight still within the hearts of man today

We lash out against everything and nothing like us

Stating that we do it for equality and the best of man

Nobility in name rules the world and the minds of men

But what of the noble heart?

Lo’ we have the strength of pertain the ideals of tragic society

We have none to listen to the gospels of truth

For within this place we call earth, we laugh at the atypical characteristic

But when those gates beckon, in his eyes we are all in truth
