The Decision

Jay appeared next to her within minutes. She told him to take her seat and she stood up.
Taking a deep breath she began, “this is really hard for me to do.
I know I’m going to be breaking someone’s heart, and I’m sorry.
I’ve been thinking about this over and over. But I do love both of you.
However, I love someone more. The one that has my heart and always has.”
Breathing slowly she turns to Jay and says, “I love you but please forgive me.
I’m in love with Lucas. I have always loved him. I still love you, just not enough to be
your wife.
It would be wrong.”
Seeing the tears swell up in his eyes, she bends down and takes his face in her hands. S
he looks up to him and tells me she loves him and still wants to be in his life.”
Trying to understand he gets up and says, “ I hope you two will be happy together.
Call me when you set the day. I love you and I want only to make you happy.”
All the while Lucas is sitting on the edge of his chair waiting for the right moment
to stand up and kiss his soon to be wife.
As soon as Jay leaves, he picks Phoebe up, twirls her around, and tells her he loves her.
Together they leave steadily making plans for their wedding next month.
