NightSong

So sing of the Darkness that dwells in the dusk
Unseen by every eye.
You can wash it away 'til the break of the day
But Darkness itself cannot die.

So sing of the Darkness that drifts through the air
The leather-laced wings of the night.
The heart's frantic beat when all others retreat
Alone with your own dismal fright.

So sing of the Darkness that lurks past the sky
Whose purpose is still yet unknown.
To rise and to fall, but with each throbbing call
Its promise is felt in the bone.

So sing of the Darkness that speaks in the soul
And lurks in the edge of each eye.
You can conquer your fright, you can summon the Light
But Darkness itself cannot die.
