I once saw a most awful place

A hellish kennel within a dream

I feared to enter, and for good reason

For lurk in the dark did dangers yet unseen

Yet overwhelmingly compelled was I

To seek a legendary thing known as peace

That I ventured into that fetid, stinking den

With the intent to slay those evil beasts

And so I fought, wielding justice and right

Combating the taint beheld by my pure eyes

Devastating all, sparing none

Knowing truth and virtue were upon my side

But suddenly, the light in flickered out

Plunging my mind into darkness

I suddenly felt a chill wind

The condemnation of the dead and lifeless

My eyes, once hallowed with brilliance

Now narrowed with a furious hatred

I felt blackness growing within purity

From my nobility a monster was created

Thorns crept through dying veins

Midnight pushed from under skin

I collapsed, weeping for my futile struggle

Light had fallen, good would never win
