"The moon was shimmering in the waters below, and the sky was it's master, holding the dark beauty," Alissa began, telling the story in deep detail while Angelina sat in silence and listened. "The events of before had come and gone, and the rapture of the night was chilling. Death was following the long, black limousine as it raced through the endless winding dirt road, and I observed from afar, unseen, unnoticed.

"As you are well aware, the ones within the black limousine were playing truth or dare, and it was now the moment of truth, as one Miss Angelina Jones was fearfully awaiting her dare, eager and axious, nervous more so, to hear her summoning. And what would she do? Stay loyal to her lover, her immortal carrier, or give in to the whim of Amos, a horrid loss for herself? And yet I watched as her eyes struggled to keep calm, smelling the stench of acute fear from miles away. Yes, it was that obvious she, or you, perhaps I should say, were terrified.

"Amos moved in closer, whispered in your ear. His whisper left cold chills tingling through the body, his lips gently brushing across your skin as he spoke. The air was so cold, so cirsp, and yet nothing but his words affected..."

"But what did he dare me!" Angelina demanded, interrupting Alissa.

"Be patient you bitch!" Alissa shouted at her. "I'm not there yet! And if you want to know at all, you'd do best to keep your mouth shut until I'm through!"

Angelina nodded sullenly, knowing that Alissa had her "backed into a corner", so to speak. If she did not do as Alissa commanded, she would never know the truth...

"I... I'm sorry," Angelina pressed. "Please continue."

"No you're not!" Alissa caught her. "But nontheless, I shall continue.

" 'I dare you to...Kiss Keegan,' Amos said to you with a sly smile. And I remember prefectly the look of shock and confusion upon your face as you cried out, 'What?'. 'Kiss him!' he screamed at you, ignoring the look of confusion on your face. You gasped, thinking of Keegan, fearful and confused of what Amos was up to. All you knew was that it wouldn't be good, and the limo pulled to a stop. In frustration, you rushed out into the street."

"Keegan?!" Angelina cried out. "He dared me to kiss Keegan?! That's absurd! Keegan wasn't even there!"

"Amos loves you," Alissa sighed, irritated. "But things are not always as they seem, and the fact that Keegan wasn't there means nothing."

"Do you think that Amos wants to make me a vampire, too?!" Angelina whispered, lost in her own thoughts.

"Of course he does, you half wit!" Alissa shouted, aggrivated. "Why else wouldn't he have killed you by now!"

"What are you talk-..." Angelina began.

"That night! When you first met him! Don't you remember? He took your blood, but not enough to kill you! He let you live! He wants you forever! God, you're dumb!" Alissa cut her off.

"Oh my God, you're right!" Angelina sobbed, but Alissa's hand struck her hard across the face, and she stopped immediately.

"If you don't mind, I'd like to continue," Alissa grumbled.

Angelina nodded, holding her face where Alissa had struck her.

"Now," Alissa continued, "you were running into the streets, worried and confused. You knew inside that Amos was aware of you and Keegan, and I will tell you right now that he was testing you. But anyway, you ran and ran, ignoring Amos' calling from behind. And finally, like an idiot, you ran into an abandoned alley. Of course, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that there's nothing safe about doing that, and someone grabbed you from behind..."

"Who was it?!" Angelina shrieked.

"Shut up!" Alissa screamed. "God, you declare that you want me to tell you what happened, then you interrupt me every time I try!"

"I... I'm sorry," she apologized. "Please continue."

"Okay... Well, it was Vance. He had known that you would be coming his way, and he was hungry, filled with his lust for blood. So he took advantage of your stupidity, and didn't hesitate to start feeding from you. You screamed for a couple of seconds, but his lips felt soothing on your neck and soon you lost consciousness. To make a long story short, Kasey, Roswell, and Amos showed up, managed to take you awasy before you died, and rushed you over to that other place until they could safely bring you back here. Amos went out for a bit, and Keegan came in as soon as Kasey summoned for him. There, that's what happened."

"But... But how did they get me away from Vance?" Angelina cried out.

"Who cares?" Alissa grumbled. "The point is they did. Now stay in here while I fetch you something to eat. Unfortunately I'll be doing my best to keep you alive."

And with that, Alissa trudged out the door, locking it on her way out, leaving Angelina alone in the room to dwell on her thoughts and questions."
