She sits basking in the sunlight,
Her eyes glittering ever so bright,
She hides her thoughts so well,
That man could never tell,
What does that silent cat see?
Perhaps it is nothing more than a flea.
A/N: This little nursery rhyme has plenty of symbolism behind its
simplistic words. The cat is really how I portray myself, the reason her
eyes glitter is because of tears. How the cat hides her thoughts is the
same as how I never express my true feelings and hide everything inside so
that the person I liked could never tell that I did like him. Again, there
is the reference that I never expressed my feelings by the description of
"silent cat." Finally the flea is a symbol of how this trouble is so small,
yet continues to bite me and cause me so much pain. Now that you know this
I suggest reading it over again and it will give you a whole new
perspective.
