He rushed to the sea side, knowing exactly where she would be and there she found her.

Atop the smoothest rock, waves crashing about her. Face wet, not with sea water but tears.

And he knew the reason why...

EARLIER THAT DAY

It was their 8th month anniversary and he had something to tell her.

"I'm sorry Chelsea, I really am"

"But why Jake?"

"I dunno Chels, we just lost...'it'"

"But we can always find 'it' again!?" by now tears were streaming down her face

He shook his head 'no'

"No...NO!" she pounded her fists on his chest, soaking his shirt with her tears

"I need to go now" he held her away; turned his back and left...

"No Jake...don't go...don't leave me..." she whispered falling on the floor

***BACK TO THE PRESENT***

Jake stood behind her, putting a hand on her shoulder

"Go away..." she said coldly

"Chels...I--"

"I said GO AWAY!" she whipped her head around, showing her eyes, no longer the deep, beautiful gray that held so much joy but red eyes filled with hurt and anger

"Hear me out," she just turned her head back to the sea

"Chels...as soon as I walked out the door I had this empty feeling in me. I thought I'd walk it off but the feeling stayed...when I got home, I saw the picture of us on our first anniversary. There and then I realized I still loved you"

"But I thought--"

"What I'm really trying to say is, that I'm sorry" at this she turned her head and faced him with a smile. The smile he never got tired of seeing, especially when it was towards him.

"I love you, Jake"

"I love you too Chels...forever..."

He gave her a kiss, a short but sweet kiss and sat down beside her.

There they sat until the sun set.
