Cause of wars and worries
Nothing but mere stories
Made-up truths and half-told tales
For people to fear and follow -
To die for and to live for, but why
Die for a merciless god?
Take a long hard look around you:
Wars caused by religion, wars fought for the sake of -
Peace?!
Children die for the sake of the world - children locked up
For the sake of liberty...
Like a plague upon this world
Humankind destroys all in its path, we kill off anything
That dares disturb our comforts
We stick our noses where they don't belong -
We destroy nature, then attempt correction - why?
Because we are all-mighty humans out to save the world!
Let's build our high-tech environments,
Let's create machines to do our work -
And then let's proclaim war and cowardly kill
With nuclear weapons and with bombs - we must feel so proud
For if we win the war we're so much stronger
Meanwhile where is this God?
Where is this Jesus that 'loves us all' - is he busy watching
From above as we kill life and with it ourselves
As innocents are born only to be killed
And as we struggle to build a better life.
Face it, we're our own destruction,
We've dug our own grave...
It just takes a while to bury the whole population.
