A young man with short black hair and deep blue eyes gathered his books and made his way out of the class room. The students where all clumped together as the eagerly left their very last class of the week. Finally, the boy managed to separate himself from the swarm of students. Tucking his books under his arm, he made his way to the east exit, the one he knew the other students almost never took because it would bring them to the back of the College campus instead of the front.
The sun was particularly warm for an autumn day but the boy didn't care much about the weather, he was just happy to be outside. He stretched before beginning his walk to his dormitory.
"Hey James! Wait up!"
A voice behind him called. James turned around to see his best friend running towards him. He was a little taller then him and his tanned skin did nothing to hide the freckles on his face. Curls of red hair accompanied his brown eyes.
"Yo Randy! What's up?"
Randy halted as he finally caught up to James.
"Nothing much. I do have to meet Veronica in ten minutes though."
Both boys looked at each other and smiled, acknowledging the fact that at least one of them had a girlfriend.
James suddenly stopped in his tracks and looked at the small wooded area to his left. The other students on campus had said weird things about the woods. James was taken out of his trance by Randy speaking up.
"I heard that people who go in those woods disappear."
James gave Randy a spectacle look. Randy responded by putting his hands in the air.
"Hey man, it's only what I heard. Listen, I better get going. Catch you later."
"Yeah, later."
With that, Randy ran off. James looked at the woods again. His curiosity was getting the best of him and he decided to go see for himself what the fuss was really all about.
Contrary to the beautiful weather outside of the woods, the inside was pretty dark. Old trees reached tall up into the sky, keeping out most of the sunlight. But other then that, James saw no difference in this woods then in any other woods he had been in. Suddenly, he heard a branch crack behind him. James turned around to see a young girl about his age standing behind him. James though it odd that she was dressed in an elegant old ball gown but still, he though it added to the girl's natural beauty. Her long raven hair flowed loosely, contrasting with her pale skin. Her dark eyes fixed James.
"I've lost something. Would you be a gentlemen and help me find it?"
The girl's voice was soft and James was completely taken away by it. He felt like he was under a spell, he couldn't look away or move. All he could manage to do was to nod his head, letting the girl know he would help her find what she had lost. The girl's pale hand reached out to James and when he took it, a flash of light surrounded them both.
The woods were now empty.
In a cave, the young girl held in her hands a jar filled with a white luminescent light. The entire cave was filled with jars similar to the one she was holding. The jars where her treasury from over the years. The girl's fingers petted the side of the jar.
"Who will I had to my collection now?"
She grinned.
The End
