I always awake in darkness
And stumbling I yell for you
Bumping into several obstacles
On my search to find you
Already awake, you've lighted the way
Set guides in my dark hallways
But I keep finding all the wrong doors
This hallway is full of wrong turns
Wrong choices and misguided truths
Rooms filled to the bursting with empty promises
And so many plastic people its turning my head
For the Son has not yet shone through my windows
But His bright promise lights the horizon
For early morning always find me in darkness
But I have stopped looking for the lies
No longer will I enter doors of disguise
But try and follow your lighted signs
I have no use for artificial light
The Son will light my heart
And He's fire will keep me from going blind
