And To Die There
Author:

I honestly don't know where this came from- a sort of poem about death, but not about suicide. About the death that comes after a long life, the death that releases.

To rest there, to rest your head in the sand,
to cry there, to feel salt mingle with
bittersweet feelings of drops on your hand,
to lie there, and to yell there
and to die there.

To rest there, to rest your hand on a shell,
to cry there, to feel sweet pain mingle
with joy and yet with the teardrop that fell,
to lie there, and to yell there
and to die there.

To rest there, to rest yourself in the sea,
to cry there, to laugh until sweet sleep
takes away all you were, all you could be,
to lie there, and to yell there
and to die there.
