Author's note: Written Saturday night, as I'm currently frustrated with my lack of a love life, and I was trying to cheer myself up by listening to Phantom of the Opera Original Cast (Point of No Return, All I Ask of You, the title song and Music of the Night rock, by the way) along with Hanson's "Underneath" and "Broken Angel".

Broken Wings
I walk alone in the moonlight
Reflecting on what I don't have
It hurts so badly to see
The happy couples in front of me
I long for that same feeling too

So for a time I try
To fly on happiness' winds
Then I realize my wings are broken
And I plummet back into the ground
Encaged by darkness, fear and doubt

I want to fly, to give love a try
But it seems my wings are broken
By luck, who wants me trapped
'Til I go mad from bitterness and despair

These tears I shed are proof
Of my longing to be loved
I wait until Luck sends me
The one who can mend
My broken wings

All I want is to fly
But it seems that
I am stuck on the ground
Encaged, trapped by my broken wings
