It is a plague among us
We see it every day
It transforms our souls and minds
It affects us in every way

It feeds on our sorrow
Though it never bleeds
It knows our strength our weaknesses
It knows our desires and needs

Everyone knows the trouble it causes
Everyone knows the pain it brings
It makes us say hateful words
It makes us think horrible things

In the end we're left with nothing
In the end we cry
After all the hate erupts
It leaves us there alone to die

It's the worst of all emotions
The one that is like a poisonous gas to breath
The one that leaves the invisible scars
Its called jealousy
