Youkai High
Prologue

A girl stood with her mother at the check out. The grocer chatting on about a local gang. "Mum." Erika tugged on her mother's sleeve.
"Erika!" Her mother almost dropped the eggs she was carrying
"Mum," She insisted.
"Erika. run off now." Her mother shooed her.
She gloomily obeyed her mother and ran off to the car. Chin tilted downwards 'I must have been bad for mom to slip into English.' She walked out and climbed into the red Honda's back seat. Suddenly a loud sound surprised her making her curl her legs in. 'That was loud!' She looked out the window to see a cat run out of the alley. It was an odd blackish-blue with a sky-blue crystal on its head. "Neko?" She bobbed up to look at it.
*Ji* (stare.)
The kitten looked at her from the sound of her voice. Tilting its head slightly it observed her.
*Doki-doki*(heartbeat.)
It approached her shyly.
*Suta-Suta*(stride.)
It looked like it was about to do something. But as it lifted its paw a bark made it stop. A dog bounded up and attacked the cat. Its red fur was startling enough but there was an aura. a fiery aura surrounding it. Erika muttered in surprise, "Akai Inu?" They stopped fighting suddenly and turned to look at her in shock.
*Jiiin* (Stare.)
*Koro* (Turn.)
As she maintained eye contact with them they seemed to smirk. ~ Mitsumi-san. ~ She fell back surprised at the voice. Her brown hair flew over her face. The door to the car flew open so that the animals could stare at her again.
"Erika-" Her mother started out the door with the grocer at her heels. Her eyes landed on the dog and cat, "youkai."
*Karan* (klak.)
The groceries splattered on the step. The cat turned her head slightly. It hissed out a low, "Miko." It suddenly disappeared.
"Oh Erika," her mother swept her into a hug.
Erika scrunched up her face, "What is a 'youki' mum?"
"Youkai are demons. Erika whatever you do never go near any youkai."
"Okay mum." Erika nodded her blue eyes shining.

YEA! PROLOGUE DONE!
