To Gin Uyoku Kou: What do ya mean completely sane or not? I thought it was a given! I'M NOT SANE!! I'm a crazy, paranoid, cheese string-addicted, shiny loving ecomaniac. (Dez: She's right!)

Tenille: Now for some humor. If anyone is wondering why I don't post disclaimers: Disclaimer: This story is pure fiction. If any characters, plot lines, etc are similar to others fictional or otherwise it isn't my fault, it is hard to think up stories and characters so give me a break! Youkai High
Death Winged

Erika was lain on a bed. 'Where am I?' Her back was fairly cold yet two places were warm. She was on her stomach feeling quite battered. Her eyes adjusted to a bright light. She faced a sky blue wall, an empty chair and a picture of a well-groomed man, a founder probably. She felt a weight on her back, 'I must be tired but I need to figure out where I am.' Her back ached a bit so she somehow decided to not roll over and get up the easy way. She moved her stiff arms upwards clamping them under her shoulders. Pushing herself upwards she managed to slide her knees underneath herself. She wore a back-less nightdress. 'I must have fell off the desk or something when I transformed.'
"Hanagi-san what were you thinking? Mitsumi-san is only a half-Youkai! Besides she is an enemy of the Mitsumi clan and maybe can unlock their weaknesses!" A voice boomed.
Plum-sensei continued, "And a fine young girl without any training. How she managed to transform in the first place is beyond me! But to let her try to transform back without guidance!"
"Umm. she is alright though! Sure she fainted but think if a regular Youkai without help tried to transform back alone on their first try they'd fail or die! She managed to turn back . . . mostly!" Ostomara seemed a bit scared.
'Mostly?' Erika surveyed herself. She seemed okay. Stretching she stood clumsily. Unluckily for her, her knees buckled from her weight. Her hands shot out to steady herself. The suddenly moment made her notice two black shapes attached to her back. Four crow feathers scattered near her hands. "I have wings?" She gasped standing up and trying to get a good look at them. She was suddenly glad she had a private room, she'd probably look stupid getting up and walking about THEN realizing she had gigantic wings.
"She is awake?" The original voice whistled. "Plum-san I'll be going back to my office now. Can you talk to Mitsumi-san? I daresay she's had a fright!"
"Yes Geol-san." The name sounded familiar to Erika. Plum-san walked in slowly, "Are you alright Erika-san?"
"Yes, what happened? Why do I have wings?" She already had an idea but she wasn't rude enough to admit she was listening in.
"A few hours ago at art class you attempted to turn back from a crow to a human." Plum-san frowned, "That idiot Ostomara let you attempt it without help, it's a surprise Matthew Geola-san didn't fire him! He shouldn't have made you first-years transform! Anyway you seemed to have kept the wings . . . they should go away after you've mastered transforming but until then you'll have to be a little angel." She chuckled.
"So can I go back to my hut now?" Erika requested.
"Yes," Plum chuckled, "Accurate name!" She passed Erika a shirt. It was a summer top, the only thing keeping it up was a neck strap and a waist strap. An 'apron' shirt as Erika's old friend had named them and it was a pale blue. "Here you'll have to wear this. Otherwise your wings will get damaged." She slipped outside closing the door, allowing Erika privacy.
Erika surveyed her clothing. She noticed she still wore her skirt. 'I'd hate to know what happened to my top.' She turned away from the door on habit, used to living in a small house with little privacy. She started to pull off the nightgown. Slipping the neck sting over her head she started to tie the waist string. As she finally managed to get it on correctly she turned to the door and opened it slowly. Her wings brushed the door as she slipped out. Plum-sensei was waiting with Ostomara-sensei.
Ostomara jumped at Erika, "Mitsumi-san please tell her you are okay and I can keep my job!"
"Plum-sensei I am okay and Ostomara-sensei could keep his job if it were up to me." Erika laughed and went towards the door. "I have to go now. Bye sensei and sensei." She waved goodbye.

Jinn looked out his window bored. Charm was reading a textbook and taking notes. 'Young geeks!' He looked out at the bright sky. A tarantula crawled in. "Noseworthy-san? Are you trying to scare me?" He rolled his eyes.
~ Damn, have you seen Erika yet? ~ Jack jumped down next to him and transformed back. "No ones seen her since art."
"I guess she isn't up yet . . ." He trailed off a familiar figure came up the stair earning many stares. (A/N: couldn't resist!) Her hair was loose yet not tangled and she wore a blue shirt. From her back came two majestic wings. They were undeniably crow feathers, that shone in the late afternoon sun. They were bunched in and curved to allow her to move around freely. "Erika?"
She grinned at him sheepishly walking to the window. "Hi Jinn-kun, Jack. Say any angel or wing jokes and you die."
"Wow!" Jack whistled, "Ya still got those wings?"
"They won't go away until I 'perfect' transforming." She rolled her eyes.
Jack smirked, "can you fly with them?"
Erika looked surprised, "I dunno. I doubt it though."
"Be careful." Jinn was worried, if someone dismayed her he'd never get his plan completed.
She nodded, "I always am."

"WAKE UP LAZY!" Jinn pounded on the door.
Rolling her eyes Erika pulled up her hair. She still wore the blue top and her skirt. "I am up and ready." Turning away from the mirror she grabbed her bag and left the hut.
Jinn lazy leaned against the hut. "You ready of another day of hell?"
Giggling Erika walked towards the staircase. "And I thought it was called 'school'."
Jinn cracked a grin while following her. "Koji and Dayu-san are waiting on ground level. They aren't allowed up here."
Erika waved around, "Wonder why?"
Rolling his eyes Jinn snickered. "It's a mystery for sure! Since we live in luxurious shacks we should be proud."
"Yes and we are the 'upper' class. Pun intended." Erika giggled starting down the stairs.
