He Who Was Once Her Lover

And there she stood

Under the merciless beating of the sun

She took comfort from the pain that had begun,

So slowly,

And wished it would bring her good

She watched closely

As the sun faded to the seemingly endless horizon

As the moon finally succeeded in its worthy throne,

But still,

Her poor heart ached so painfully

But she fought her will

Her will to cry out loud and shed her pain

To the little green grasses and the fields of grain

They were her witness,

To her constant torment under the definition of vain

Her heart screams the silent voice of disdain

While from her eyes she fought the seemingly endless rain

Though her heart was crying still

Because he was her pain

But she held on though her heart very well wanted

To let go and ran far and farther until she panted

Until to her knees she fall…

However she couldn’t go on without being haunted

By his face that she had truly loved and very well hated

He had bounded her in a chain

Bounded on a wall

She watched every day that passed by

Along with the aging trees that grew so high,

Watching her,

As she desperately asks herself why

Why is he not by her side every time she cry?

Why couldn’t she just lie down and die?

Death could easier answer her call…

Than he who was once her lover
