Prologue
Year 2050- 2066
Doctor John Willams of the United States government, walked down the hallway with the first results of Project H. Project H was made to make an elite group of humans that could be used for the upcoming war, World War IV, which had started between the United States and France.
The several government doctors that worked on the project took the genetics from some of the best people in the world and mixed them. They made two hundred different embryos knowing that only half would probably survive, and placed them in different women. Out of the two hundred different embryos only one hundred fifty survived the first trimester of the pregnancy, one hundred to the second, and fifty were actually born. The women that had the babies didn't even get to see them, they didn't even know if the baby was a boy or a girl, the government took them away as soon as they were born and they were taken into the care of the doctors they had.
The doctors ran tests on all the babies to see if any had any problems. There were eight that were eliminated from those tests. The forty- two that survived the tests and the nine months in the womb were taken to a government safe house in the middle of nowhere so they could be taken care of. The babies had specific requirements of them, if they did not start to sit up, crawl, talk, or walk by a certain time they were taken and killed, so they didn't have any evidence that they were doing this to human beings, because making genetically perfect humans was against the law. There were ten that were eliminated before they reached one year old.
Twenty of the children lived to the age of two. They started training when they could talk and walk. They had the children sit down and work on picture puzzles and other things of that sort that made them work their minds. They taught them to read at the age of three, and the ones who couldn't keep up were eliminated. Eighteen of the children lived to the age of three.
None of the children had names yet. They all went by numbers, that way none of the people who looked after them got to attached since they didn't know how many would actually make it through the elimination process and training.
Fifteen made it to the age of six. That's when they started the
serious school training and they started doing physical work. They were
very strict on the children. If they didn't do something perfectly the
first time they were punished severely and if they didn't the second time
they had a chance of being eliminated, and they knew what that meant by
now. They are the smartest children. There were nine females and six males.
They all had to share one room that had white walls, hard beds, and stiff
pillows.
There were thirteen left by the age of eight. By this time the
children were running a few miles a day and were going through intense
training courses. They were also going through classes every day that
involved war and some of the regular things that regular children went
through in school, except they were doing it at sixth grade level. They
also weren't allowed to have emotions, if they laughed, cried, or even
smiled while around one of the trainers or doctors they would be punished
severely, but not enough to hurt them permanently, they did need them to be
able to fight.
And then there were twelve; one more had been eliminated by the age of twelve. There were six males and six females, they had all started to mature and develop more muscles. They had another set of requirements to meet again. A lot of the children developed special skills; some of them could run extremely fast, and some were very intelligent, they could even correct some of the doctors. Only one of them didn't meet the requirements and she was taken away and eliminated. The others didn't even seem to notice because they showed no emotion when she wasn't there the next day.
At the age of sixteen there were only ten left, and no more would be eliminated. The doctors had decided that these ten were perfect and they did not want to have less than ten people. The final ten had five males and five females, some were of different skin color too, there were two that were Hispanic, and three that were black, the rest were white. They were all going through training that the people training them probably couldn't even do. They ran fifteen miles a day and they were taught to not get tired. They also were taught not to need food, sleep, or water till it was absolutely necessary. They were forced to fight each other, and the winners were rewarded with food or free time.
The ten got to meet the President because he was their commander, just like the doctors and trainers. The President updated them on the war. He said that right now they were at a stage where it hadn't been declared full out war but he was planning on doing it in a matter of months. The doctors and trainers cheered at this and the kids just stared ahead.
All of them slept in the same place, and that was the only place that they were left alone and not watched. That's were they could develop the personalities and emotions that they were not allowed to have when out of that room. That's where they developed the plan. The plan was to escape. They didn't like the way they were treated. They knew that there were better places to be and they knew that they could get out of there and to those places. So they decided they were going to leave, no matter what, and all of them were leaving.
They all gave themselves names, just because their trainers didn't want them to have names. They liked to spite the trainers, and now they started misbehaving during training and school. They got beaten a lot more than they usually did and locked in a room by themselves, just like the people in jail did when they misbehaved. Then the trainers got fed up with it and put them in their room for a week. That's when they decided to do it.
