Disclaimer: The only thing I don't own in this story is the title. (That belongs to a Cradle Of Filth Song--Thank you Dani!) The rest of the characters and things belong to ME! I thank you for taking the time to read this.
Britain, the 17th Century
Chapter one
Bunny swept the last of the dust out of the kitchen and looked through the window. The sun was setting. Damian, her husband, would be home soon. She smiled at the thought of seeing him again. She went and sat outside on the porch, with a glass of lemonade she had made earlier than day. She saw a silhouette of a man in the distance, and recognized it to be Damian. She got up from the porch and ran towards him.
About six-and-a-half feet tall, Damian dwarfed Bunny, who just barely scraped over the five-foot mark. He had cool gray eyes, which always were filled with love for Bunny. He also had silky black hair, which was swaying slightly as he ran toward her.
"Damian!" she said excitedly as he caught her in his arms.
"What is it, love?" he asked in a voice tinged with concern. Bunny smiled.
"I'm fine, Damian." She said. "Although I have something very important to tell you." She said mysteriously.
"What is it?" he asked. He had had a long day, and he was tired. He wanted to know if it was anything bad.
"Wait until you sit down." She said, her amber eyes sparkling. He opened the door to their cottage and set her down on the chair. "Now you sit down." She said, waiting until he had sat down to rub his tired feet. She knew he had been on his feet for the good part of the day.
"So what is it, honey?" he asked, pulling her onto his lap.
"Do I look different in any way?" she asked. He cocked his head to the side for a second.
"Hmm." he said. "You're positively glowing, but you're always this radiant, so what is it?" he asked.
"Well, Damian," she said, taking his hand, "I'm pregnant." She said.
