Darkness of the night sky

Candles on the dark

Flickering, frolicking

Sharing fables, tales and delight.

A heavy-hearted soul

Stares up from below,

Crystal liquid

Trickling down his face.

Eyes of azure

Heart of crimson,

He sings to the sky

Begging for counsel.

Not a word

Not a whisper from above

He runs afar, never returns.

Graceful moon

Pallid glow

Majesty of the night sky

Watch,

Ever careful

Ever-present,

He searches.

Starved earth

Tender virgin,

Awaiting his step

Tingling with hope.

Unyielding soldier

Far below,

Watching the sky

Searching…

Candles on the dark,

Whisper counsel wise

Soldier’s salvation;

Crimson heart.

Extinguished by the light,
