Duration of a Breath
So many tears awaiting to be shed,
So much blood unnecessarily bled,
Murders, robberies, beatings, and rape,
Turmoil caving and no escape
Seas of conformity at high tide,
Pointless, unwritten rules to abide,
Perverts riding you as if you're some horse,
Sluts and jackasses retort
Pondering and daydreaming consume me,
Hoping he didn't judge me before he knew me,
Soulful leaps I take with pride,
No ridicule can cease my stride
So many tears and so much blood,
The worries of the world engulf us in a flood,
War, peace, disease, and death,
All occur in the duration of a breath
