In darkness
The world could look a whole lot different.
All faces would be
Devoid of lines and "crow's feet" at crinkled corners.
Noses would be just the right size,
Not too big or too small.
Lips would pout in a natural way;
No need to coat them with layers
And layers and layers
Of lip gloss.
Breasts would never sag,
Hips would never be too big or too wide
For the ideal size -- zero.
Waists would taper off to perfect angles,
Unblemished thighs and calves and ankles.
Perfection would be natural,
Flawless from birth and raised to be beautiful.
Unhappiness could be a world away,
In darkness.
