Three short imagist poems. The first is a sonnet on lichen; the second a snapshot of the landscape of Vermont; the third, by far my favourite, portrays an intimate moment of love.

Canopy
your raven locks
are sheltering my head
like glistening wings
my flowing tresses
are covering your cheeks
like a tapestry of tears
both forming a canopy
for the secret rose bower
where our lips are
lingering upon each other
and our breath is mingling
