Yesterdays

You tell me that I'm wrong
What is it now?
I know.
Is it because of those free thinkers
That I'm among?

Or no.
It's about yesterday, isn't it?
It always is.
You're stuck in your perpetual yesterday
And now there's so many yesterdays
And you tell me that I'm wrong.

I'm wrong.
You look at yesterdays and
All you do is sigh.
And sometimes cry.
But that's just because you
Never really tried
Did you?
You never really tried.

And now you're stuck in yesterday
Wishing for company.
So you try and pull me back too.
Wake up. It's today.
It's never yesterday.
If you hadn't screwed up
You wouldn't be able to look back
At all the wrongs.

You're stuck there now.
I'm not joining you in yesterday
Not anymore.
I had my share of yesterday
The first time I knocked on your door.
You're all about the past
Well
Wake up while this lasts.

I'm wrong.
You look at yesterdays and
All you do is sigh.
And sometimes cry.
But that's just because you
Never really tried
Did you?
You never really tried.

And I'll not join you.
Makes you sad, doesn't it?
No one wants to join you
Because all you do is sigh.
And sometimes cry.
Because you never really tried, babe.
You never tried.
