Writer’s Child

An idea is like a birth, something new being brought into the world.

Paper is like a cradle, where the babe may rest without being lost.

Pencils are like milk, feeding the idea to make it grow.

A story is like an infant, growing into something greater.

Ink is like a teacher, correcting when it goes wrong.

A chapter is like a birthday, marking the passage of time.

A publisher is like a university, prepping you for the world.

A book is like a young adult, making its way into this land.

A library is like a haven, where one is cared for and safe.

And a reader is like a lover, the partner in a courting dance.
