(Chapter Three. I wasn’t sure I’d get this far, but a lengthly review made me realise I love all my stories! In reply to your comment, (you should know who you are) I do have an excuse. My writing has come on dramatically over the past year, and I have tackled my little comma problem. (At least I go over and check it) As for the question of plotlines. Ah, You see I have my ideas set out usually. Same goes for this story! Thank you for the review, however, I was really pleased to see such critique. I don’t get many reviews with quite so much depth. Hope you, and anyone else who comes across the story is enjoying it as much as I love writing it!)
Chapter ThreeIt wouldn’t matter that she had told a little white lie to him, Eikoe half-thought. She was dreamily in a lock with Kagome, his kisses had been getting deeper by the second. Even though he was sending her senses haywire, she still had the time to be thinking about other things. She leant back slightly, trying to focus her attention on Kagome. He was grinning from ear to ear.
“You have a kiss beyond what I dreamed.” He whispered, still smiling. Eikoe giggled a bit, pulling the towel she wore up slightly to avoid being exposed.
“You’re not so bad yourself.” She replied, and Kagome snorted. In a way he was glad to see he’d come across someone so beautiful who wasn’t trying to get in his pants. Although, that wouldn’t have been a bad thing. He bit hard on his lip, staring at Eikoe hard. Was that what he wanted from her? A quick fling and to never see her again? Shaking his head slowly, he laughed as Eikoe gave him a confused look.
“Sorry my dear. Was just thinking.” Kagome said genuinely, he leant over slightly to grab a grape from the fruit bowl in the centre of the coffee table, bringing it back over to her. Eikoe raised an eyebrow, giggling as Kagome pressed the grape to her lips. Her eyes closed as she opened her mouth, and Kagome popped the grape past her lips. Unable to resist temptation however, he leaned in to kiss her gently. As he pulled away again, Eikoe found herself almost laid down on the sofa, Kagome was sat up above her slightly, smiling at her.
“What were you thinking about?” She asked, lifting her hands to fold across her tummy gently. She had a smile on her face now. Kagome leant over slightly, he was wedged between the back of the settee and her body, not that he minded at all.
“I was thinking about how stunning you look.” He muttered, causing Eikoe’s eyebrows to furrow. She sat up, having to pull her towel round her to prevent it from falling off her completely. Kagome grinned.
“Stunning? In a towel?” She exclaimed, looking down at him before frowning slightly. She lifted a hand to poke his nose gently, standing to her feet and rearranging herself.
“Oh I see how it is, the closer to being naked I am, the better.” She muttered, half jokingly, although she imagined it was true. Yawning a bit, eyed him curiously, he was laid across the settee. “Can I go to bed?” Eikoe added, almost like a child. Kagome stared hard at her for a minute. She can’t have been all that old when he thought about it. Smiling, he stood to his feet and slid an arm around her waist, guiding her back to the main entrance room through a different way. He flicked a few switches as they walked, but slowly got her up the stairs. He showed her to the same room he had let her use previously.
“Here you are my pretty.” He declared, opening the door again for her. He stood by the door as she walked in, leaning against it to watch her as she looked around.
“I can stay here?” She queried, looking back at him curiously. This must have been one of the master bedrooms surely? It was about as regal as the room she slept in at home. Kagome just nodded, moving his hand to the doorknob to close it.
“This will be your room during the time of your stay.” He confirmed, Eikoe hurried over as he went to close the door, placing both her hands either side of his waist. Her soft hands made his body tingle.
“Don’t I get a goodnight kiss?” She asked, looking up into his eyes. Kagome grinned, unable to resist granting such a wish. His hands slid to her face, cupping it gently before he leaned in to press his lips against hers. Once again, he found himself resisting the urge to let his hands wander. They broke apart, and Eikoe’s hands slipped to her sides.
“Goodnight then, Eikoe.” He whispered, she nodded the same and inclined her head briefly.
“Goodnight Kagome.” Stepping back as he closed to door. Her hand lifted slightly, and she pressed her fingertips against her lips. She’d never kissed anyone outside of her family before. Retiring to her bed she jumped onto it, crawling over the covers to see a pair of pyjamas. She dressed into them quietly, ripping back the covers and snuggling down underneath them.
It was only when she was finally settled that she could still hear the faint drum of rain on the rooftop. A wide yawn escaped her, and she let her eyes close. The day had been long, and sleep was welcome.
Kagome lay awake in his room, staring at the ceiling. His thoughts were solely on the origination of this girl. Never in his life had he heard of Aetherspace, or Unaveile. He would have his researchers on it first thing in the morning. He was most concerned about her reasons for arriving here. He knew the rumours about the castle holding a grand secret. He only lived here! If she had wanted to get closer to the secret however, she had no hope of getting at it through Kagome. He frowned, thinking hard. Perhaps he should just see what happened. He was attracted to her, like flowers are to the sun, and her lips. Oh how he was dying to feel them against his again. His eyes fell closed, and soon thoughts of the young lady a few doors away induced sleep.
When Eikoe woke the following morning, sunlight was strewn across her bed. The window it struck through had no curtains, and she guessed it was one of those rooms that wanted to accept the moon and sun in. A heavy yawn escaped her and she let her arms stretch up above her head. Her first question was relative to time, and so climbing out of the bed, she wandered over to the door. Exiting, she could hear a faint hum of noise from downstairs. She followed it.
Kagome was in the kitchen again, fully clothed this time. He wore a smart shirt and a pair of trousers, but had failed to locate some socks. It seemed during the daytime the castle bustled with servants. He was currently talking to one who seemed rather out of place.
“I want you to do an extensive search on two things. A universe called Aetherspace, with a city by the name of Unaveile on it. I also want you to find out as much as you will about the secret of this castle. Anything you can.” Kagome asked, smiling. The other man nodded, writing this down on a piece of paper, he stepped back and bowed slightly.
“I will see it done.” He replied, turning on his heel and making his own way out of the castle. Someone else with a bundle of clothes which included Eikoe’s from yesterday, which were all sopping wet suggesting they had just been removed from the washing machine, stepped over to Kagome.
“Sir. It seems there are some girls clothes with this load. You still wish me to clean them?” Kagome took a look at his servant, then at the basket. He nodded with a grin.
“Indeed. To the highest standard as always.” Kagome smiled, and the young girl walked away, bustling to what must have been the cleaning rooms. A sigh escaped Kagome, and he looked over at the cooks tending the stove.
“Breakfast in ten minutes. I hope you cooked for two.” He queried, looking over one of the cook’s shoulder at the stove. The cook nodded, and Kagome relaxed a little, fumbling slightly.
“The dinner party tonight needs to have another mouth to add to it.” He said, not entirely sure that Eikoe would attend. By all mean he wanted her to, but they had no relationship currently. He wanted to introduce her as his… his… girlfriend. It sounded most unlike him. He turned to look round at the entrance hall, watching a few maids cleaning up about the place. Rumour had fled across the castle that Kagome had a lady friend, and when one of his maids stopped to look at the staircase, Kagome grinned. She was awake?
The pairs of eyes on her was quite unnerving, and the fact that she was dressed in a pair of light green pyjamas in the middle of servants wearing uniform was actually quite embarrassing. Kagome strode into the entrance hall, smiling as he noticed Eikoe clung to the stair rail and making her quiet way down. She looked up at him, offering the same smile back.
“Good morning.” Kagome said boldly, a few of the servants around him had stopped, and he walked towards Eikoe, offering his hand for the last few steps. She took it, although she was perfectly fine and smiled up at him, ignoring those around her. She was used to servants, but those at Unaveile palace were friends of the royals.
“Morning to you too.” She replied, closing her eyes as she felt Kagome kiss her cheek. As he pulled away she turned her head to look at him, pulling his hand behind her so he would lean in closer. They kissed a few moments, and Kagome flushed slightly as he stood to his proper height.
“Hmn.” He said, looking over at the few girls who were giggling. Someone was going to try and tame Kagome? The thought was laughable. He knew what they were thinking, and probably assumed that Eikoe had retired from his room this morning. How very wrong they were. “breakfast shall be ready soon.” He finished, smiling down at her and guiding her through into the kitchen, past it, adjacent to the living room was another door.
Kagome opened it to reveal a long hall, with an almost equally long oak table running throughout. Eikoe looked up at him and raised an eyebrow, but his attention was on a young boy who was tending to the table.
“Don’t set out this end for tonight until we’ve finished.” He asked, the boy nodded, looking at Eikoe. His eyes wandered and Kagome raised an eyebrow.
“Did you hear what I said?” he questioned the boy sternly. The servant bowed hastily, rushing out of the room. Eikoe giggled quietly, sitting down in the chair Kagome had pulled out for her. He’d moved over to the chair opposite, sitting down and smiling. A servant carrying two plates walked into the room, setting one before each of them.
“Wow.” Eikoe muttered as she saw the plate. Piled his with all sorts of foods she wasn’t sure she’d seen before. She would have to be discreet about how she ate. If Kagome was going to feed her as often as this, and with as much food as this, she was going to find it hard to find herself an appetite. She wasn’t used to eating much food in Aetherspace. The servant left, and Kagome had already begun eating. She sighed heavily, tucking into her breakfast carefully.
“Eikoe…” Kagome began, looking at the way she was surveying her food. Eikoe looked up, taking a tiny bite out of the sausage she had on her fork. Kagome tried his best just to see it as a sausage, “I’m hosting a formal dinner tonight, for some of my upper class friends. I was wondering if you would accompany me… as my second half?” He asked, Eikoe stared at him, her fork about to drop to the plate.
His second half? That meant his partner right? Was this what kissing someone got you into? She stared at him for a while, taking another idle bite out of her sausage. She was unsure of what to say, never mind what to think.
“I know it’s rather soon. After we met, but I believe there may be a future for us.” He said, watching her reactions carefully. She was smirking after he finished though, he must have said something right. This was perfect, she thought. Getting closer to Kagome, to get the orb. She hoped he would mistake her grin for one of acceptance.
“I would love to join you.” She said as steadily as she could. Just as she had hoped, he lapped up the information and he smile.
“Perfect. We shall go out and buy you a new attire this morning.” He nodded, and the two of them went back to silence. Eikoe barely ate, and Kagome mistook it for excitement. Such a beautiful girl at his dinner party. His guests would be impressed, especially if she proved herself to be as high standard as she seemed to be.
