This poem
was inspired by the book 'The Secret Confession of Rustin
Parr' regarding the Blair Witch killings...it's an excellent book, I recommend
it to all!
___________________
Rustin Parr
Convict
Kidnapper
Murderer
Innocent?
Blair Witching hour called his name
Giving leave to new born killings
For all blood is the same
Spilling onto sacrificial altars
He must commit to Elly Kedward's
callings
For the Blair Witch must be avenged
New blood must be spilled
Buried in the basement
Skeletons in his closet
Blood runes decorate the walls
All evidence points to Parr as the villain
His macabre rituals taint the town
Taken into custody he waits
For the day
For the hour
For the moment
The instant of his execution
Hours before the trap door falls
He makes his last confession
His first in thirty years
"Forgive me Father for I have sinned"
He reveals the nature of the killings
'Twas the will of Elly Kedward
That bid the deeds be done
'Twas the Blair Witch's callings
Which beckoned death
Innocent
Parr's feet mounted the platform guiltily
As Burkittsville came to see the show
The noose fixed itself around his throat
And the trap door's hinges let him drop
A dull choking noise
And Burkittsville fell silent
Innocent
Murderer
Ritualistic tendencies
Must fresh blood be spilled for Rustin's
sake?
Blair Witching hour calls another name
To avenge another execution
