A Sense of Loss
While you hold on and speak to the dead
Regret spending time with the significant other that moved on
The friend who has lost touch
The possession that was stolen or destroyed
Loss of ability or even of a sense
Finding a wrinkle or a few strands of grey hair
A privation of dignity, self-worth, respect, humanity and pride

The pain and loss... the feelings of dread
The wanting to hide from life and the world instead of living, rebuilding,
facing life
The tears that pour out
The anger, hatred and resentment drift off your soul
The guilt, sadness, shame and regret that eat at your being

Sometimes it can't be fixed or repaired
But most of us know and fully understand
And although I can't make everything right
I appreciate you and what you have done
Its time to let go and move on
Let the healing begin
