The Princess
By: Marina L.

One day something unique happened. All the planets lined up in a row in space. This caused a marvelous blue light that shown down towards the earth. The light glowed brighter then a star. It fell upon a flower garden near a lake in the middle of a forest. In that garden lay a sleeping baby. The bright light made the baby look like an angel. When it was so dark that only this light could be seen all the flowers in the garden bloomed except one. From these flowers fairies came out. There where all kinds of them, little ones, baby's, adults and many others. All of them had their own colors of their flowers on them not one was alike. Everyone crowded around the baby. No one had ever seen a baby before some wanted to know if it was a new friend. And others wanted to know what it was. After the commotion settled down the last flower bloomed. It was a white rose. From the rose came a Prince and a Princess. Prince White and Princess Rose both told everyone to calm down and be quit. Princess Rose flew near the child and smiled. She told everyone that this was a human baby girl. Everyone was surprised to hear that the Princess knew what this creature was even Prince White. Princess Rose sat on the baby's nose and smiled with a patient smile. Then she said that the baby would be called Marina. How she knew what to name the baby she did not know. She only knew that this felt right. As everyone talked and debated about how the baby wound up all alone. No one noticed that the baby was wide-awake now. She was listening and watching everyone. She was fascinated with the beautiful wings of the fairies and how they fly. Princess Rose stopped everyone with one wave of her hand. She said it doesn't matter how the baby got here what matters is that she is here. It's our job to raise it and take care of it now. How she knew that also she could not say. But no one objected not even Prince White. He saw how his wife looked at the baby. It was magical. Marina began to giggle because she was so happy.
Princess Rose instructed everyone to build a human house for the baby because she felt this needed to be done. Prince White was a little nervous he didn't know where to begin caring for this human child. But Princess Rose assured him that everything would work out. The fairies cared for the baby like it was one of their own kind. Though fairies never age and they don't grow Marina was different. She kept getting bigger and bigger. Many years passed and Marina by human years was sixteen years old. She was very tall with piercing blue eyes and long black hair. She was very curious and loved to learn anything and everything.
One night Princess Rose flew to Marina's house. Marina was wide-awake wating for her. She was crying with silver tears. Princess Rose kissed her and sat on her nose. Marina stopped crying. She looked at Princess Rose her stepmother and asked do I have to leave. Princess Rose sighed and nodded her head. But why Marina begged. I love it here with you and the fairies. Princess Rose smiled and said my daughter you know better then me why you must part with us. Don't worry we will always be close to you. Right here she pointed to Marina's heart. We will be here always. Don't be afraid the Princess said. I believe that on this journey you will find your true home.

I have a feeling that you are very special my daughter. With that Marina hugged her stepmother and both cried a little. The next day Marina packed for her journey. She bid the entire community of fairies goodbye and talked with the Prince and Princess. Princess Rose gave Marina a necklace with a fairy amulet, which would help her on her journey. Marina bowed in thanks. Then the Prince gave Marina a bag with special fairy dust and kissed her on her forehead. Marina bowed once more and left the fairy home that she knew so well. As she walked silver tears fell from her eyes. As each tear fell to the ground blue flowers appeared. But Marina was too sad to notice. You know with each new flower comes a new fairy friend, but that's another story.
Marina walked for days stopping to smell the flowers and get something to eat. She didn't know how she knew where to go but she just knew. She met a lot of different animals on her way and she stopped and talked to them. She even helped those who where in trouble. All of them were choked when they saw her and asked many questions. For them she learned that humans like her where not seen in centuries and everyone taught that they where myth. As she met more animals she began to feel very sad. To her it seemed that there was no more of her kind and she was the only one in the world. This made her cry so much that a river appeared in the forest. This of course Marina also did not notice. With new creations comes new life like all the fairies believe. But Marina did not think about this she was too sad. The more depressed she became the more homesick she got. It was unbearable she could not take it anymore. She sat on a near by rock and held her amulet wishing she could see her fairy home and her family. Then a mirror appeared before her eyes and as she looked inside she saw the fairy garden and her family. Marina became happy again with all her sorrow gone. After a while she resumed her journey knowing if she ever felt lonely again she could see her home by using her amulet.
Her journey was very long and she traveled for two years. It seemed like she walked all over the planet, but she hadn't. Finally her journey was over. She was on a beach in front of a huge ocean. It was very beautiful. The sun was leaving the sky so the moon could take its place to guard the earth. Marina was tiered and she fell asleep on the beach. She woke up in a hurry she had herd a strange sound. She came close to the ocean and listened. The sound was so hypnotizing she began to sway right to left. Then something came out of her mouth the most peculiar sound. She didn't know how in the world she was making it. The sounds in the ocean became louder. Her own sound increased as well. She was scared. What was happening she thought to herself. Then the sound from her stopped. She looked at the ocean. She could not hear anything. She stopped swaying to the sound. Then Marina noticed something far away in the ocean. It was a huge tidal wave called Tsunami and it was hading right for her. But she was not afraid at all. As the wave came closer and closer to the shore she saw something riding the wave. As it neared to her she knew what she saw. It was a creature similar to her riding in a chariot on the top of the wave. Large creatures called dolphins were pulling the chariot. The wave vanished and the chariot was now in front of her. The tall creature came out of it and went to her. It was a tall man with a gold crown on his head. He seemed very kind. As he came toward her she noticed he had the same color eyes like her.

He was right in front of her and he began crying. Silver tears began falling to the ground and lilies began to grow around them. Then this man hugged her with all his strength. He smiled and kissed her on her check. My daughter you are back at last he said. Marina was in chock. She began to back away shaking her head no. This can't be happening she thought. He began to come closer to her. What's wrong he asked. She looked at him and saw worry in his eyes. She stopped moving. Then she said I don't know who you are and what you are talking about. He was now in chock. Then he said I am your father Poseidon king of the seas you are my daughter Marina. She looked at him with quizzical eyes. How do you know my name? she asked him. I named you how could I not know my own daughters name he answered. He looked at her and saw the fear in her eyes. Then he said I would never hurt you my child don't you remember me. Marina looked at this man and said I am sorry, but I don't know you. Now he was in pain. He could not believe his ears and eyes. His own daughter did not remember him. He looked at her with pain in his eyes and asked for her hand. She gave it to him after some time. Then in his other hand a large trident appeared. He walked to the ocean holding his daughters hand. As she stepped into the sea she herd someone whisper please remember. Then with a sudden rush pictures began to appear in front of her they where memories. But she didn't know them. She saw a beautiful woman holding a small baby with blue eyes. The woman sang a song to the baby before she went to bed. Then Marina saw the child crawl out of her own bed and down to the ground which was made all of clouds. Then she saw the baby fall down to the earth. The small child landed in a garden there she fell asleep. Up in the clouds she saw the lady crying for her baby. Then Marina saw the lady die of the loss of her child. Next to the bed she saw a man with so much pain in his eyes. Father Marina yelled Father. Then she regained her consciousness. She was in the ocean holding Poseidon's hand. She turned around and began to cry. Both hugged each other as they shed tears of joy. Father and daughter were reunited at last. Marina now remembered everything she was sad that her mother had died but happy to be with her father at last. She was finally home in the ocean and she was not afraid anymore. She told her father about her life with the fairies and he intern told her about his. They visited the fairies after that and stayed with them every year. Princess Rose and Prince White visited Marina and her father as well. And that is the end of this story. Or is it only the beginning of another?
