The Book
By: Marina L.

A long time ago Merlin the sorcerer found an old book as he was looking for the future king of Camelot. He was surprised when he found it because the book was said to be destroyed a long time before his birth. It was a black covered book with an angel in a silver gown drown on the cover. As he opened the book he tried to remember what he had heard about it. But he couldn't remember a thing, which was surprising because Merlin remembered everything. He opened the book to the first page. The page had some unusual writing that was not present in his time anymore. Merlin was furious he could not believe that he couldn't read the inscriptions in this book. After a while he calmed down and decided to borrow a translation book from the water fairies that lived near the forest where he was sitting.
As Merlin began to walk towards the north he remembered that the fairies don't come out until night falls. Well that got him worked up again. Finally, he sat on a rock and looked through the book. The sun set and it became dark. Merlin began his walk again. In a couple of hours he came upon the Invisible Lake where the water fairies lived. The only thing was there was no lake in front of him.
A full moon entered the midnight sky and its blue light touched the ground the Invisible Lake appeared. The water fairies came out and began their nightly shores. They flew every witch way and Merlin after a while was able to ask one light blue fairy to give word to the Queen that he was here for some help. The fairy did a little curtsy in the air and disappeared in a instant. In less then a second the little fairy came back with the most beautiful water fairy imaginable, she was thinner and taller then the rest wearing a sheer blue almost white dress that showed her gorgeous body, the Queen herself.
Merlin said "salutations Marine". The Queen replied "salutations Merlin, what can I do for you this lovely night". The Queens voice was like raindrops on the trees. It was absolutely amazing. There was no need to be formal. They where old friends and Merlin smiled at the Queen. The first thing he asked his friend was if she happened to have a translation book of ancient and dead languages. The Queen said "yes, but I have many books like that". She asked then if he can be more specific. Merlin became sad and a little embarrassed because he did not know what language he needed. He showed Queen Merine the book he had found. When the Queen opened it she was amazed. She told him that the book was special, that it had a purpose, but she could not remember it. She sighed at her lack of memory.
The Queen thought to herself awhile so that she could remember the language the book was written in. Then it hit her, the language was called Transmeranian. It was so old that none of the wizards know about it. But she remembered it very well and smiled. She gave Merlin a translation book and told him to be careful. Then they parted.

Merlin was on his way back home. He could not wait to read the book. After walking south for four miles Merlin entered his house which stood in the middle of the Dragon Forest. The house was made of tree trunks and was not very large. Most of the rooms where I a horrible mess. Merlin tended to collect anything and everything eve things he did not need. He went to his study and sat down in his black chair. He began to read immediately after he sat. It was surprising how fast he read with the help of the translation book the water fairy Queen gave him. Now he could understand the writing in the book. He was glad and he read:

Before the world was formed there was good and evil. These entities
fought all the time for the right of power over the universe. One day
a star was created because of their battle. The star became a planet
called Earth. Good and Evil still kept fighting even on Earth. Millions
of creatures died due to this battle. One day good and evil stopped
fighting because it seemed that no one entity would win the fight

therefore, they decided that it was up to others to finish this battle.
Evil laughed and left the world to do its spell. Good saddened but

determined began his spell as well. They both met in silence and
spoke so no one might hear their words. "One day two baby's will
be born on earth and into the world. These baby's will carry on our

battle and by them a victor will be chosen. This will determine the fate
of the universe. Both baby's will be pure and will have their own gifts
that will extend beyond eternity. The child of evil will be born when night
and day are one and red blood flows into the sky. The child of good will
be born when the moon is full and glows blue and white, and the sky is full
of stars."

This is what Merlin read. Nothing else was really important. The rest was some incantations and coordinates of where the two baby's would be born. After Merlin was done reading he pondered awhile. He got up from his chair after some time and began to yell. He was very upset and made a mess in his study.
