Los Angeles, California
Present Day

It was hot out. Sticky, muggy, and humid. Lavena couldn't stand the immense heat of California. Oh how she yearned to be back in London, comfortable, staring out the window of her mansion, at the vast countryside. Not another
soul to bother her. Although she still had a huge house overlooking Los Angeles and it was quiet, It just wasn't the same. So much bustle now that the "family" had moved in with Carver and her. At least 50 or so vampires
resided there alongside her and Carver. She hated it, but she also knew that she had to keep her kin safe. They had to move from London because of
vampire hunters constantly killing and sabotaging their family, as she liked to call it. Lavena chose America as her next stop and had the custom
built mansion for her. So here she sat at her window seat, gazing out across the dark land. Inside she was cold, her mind blank, lonesome. All
she wanted in the world was to fill that gaping hole of compassion she lacked. She wanted love. As if an angel coming to answer her prayers, her
door opened and Carver walked in. He was much different than from 1892, when they first met. His pitch black hair was short and spiked, his clothes more in style, leather pants and a slick jacket. His eyes still ice cold blue, like those of an innocent young boy. Lavena felt overwhelming love
for him. And as Carver saw her across the room, he smiled, admiring her beauty and grace as she stood. She was a very attractive woman. Long brown
hair , ice blue eyes (as all vampires eyes were, of their family), a slender yet curvy body, something about her was hypnotic to the look. As
usual, Lavena, never caring about what people thought, was wearing her
lingerie. It was a black corset top with red lace trim and matching
garters. Her makeup was heavily done this night, making the fluorescent blue shine even brighter from behind the black. "Oh Carver, I am so glad to see you." She cried out, flinging her arms around his shoulders. She had to
stand on her tiptoes just to reach him for he was quite tall. Carver smiled, taking in her scent and wrapping his arms around her. "I missed you
so much." She whispered in his ear. That made him grin yet again. "I am nothing without you by me my queen." He said back, catching her warm gaze. And this was how it always started, they would see each other after a while
of being apart, and catch that distant passion in themselves. Her lips
grazed his and Carver closed his eyes. Lavena pulled his jacket off and tossed it on the wooden floor. She could smell him so strongly, her temples pounded, she could never hold her feelings in around Carver. His hands ran down the hooks on the back of her corset as she wrapped him up in a kiss. It was soft and drawn out, yet she pulled away and sat on the edge of her bed. Carver looked down at her and frowned. 'What's the matter Levee?' He asked, kneeling beside her, his hands on her knee. Her eyes were drawn with
fear, watered and glistening. Lavena looked into his eyes and smiled faintly. "You are so good to me carver." She whispered, placing her hand on his. Carver grinned, "Anything for you, master." He said quietly. She shook
her head and sighed. "Don call met those things Carver, you aren't a servant to me, you are kin." She paused for a second and then continued, "I need love Carver.I don't know how to quite explain it, but I need some sort
of affection from the opposite sex." She said slowly. Carver sighed and stood before her. " am I here for?" He asked. Lavena snickered and shook her head. "No, no Carver I would never do that to you, you are my
kin." Carver got back down on his knees. "Yes I love you, you guided me when I was in my greatest time of need, you showed me a way like
none others. I am so grateful for must notice that you are so special to me, and that is something I cannot explain well enough." Lavena
ran her fingers through his hair and smiled. "You have grown so much Carver, flourished into something I have never been and never that
I am grateful for, to have such a young, handsome, witty kinsman by my side." Carver flashed his fangs and leaned closer towards her. Slowly, he
raised her hand to his lips and kissed it lightly. "You can count on me being here by your side Levee, no matter what." He said quietly and then pressed against her legs. The silence was too much for her to handle, she
never was a pressure person. And at that very moment, she felt so pressured. Grabbing the collar of Carver's jacket, she pulled him up to her and kissed his lips quickly. She continued and pulled his jacket off and
then his shirt, revealing his smooth, sexy pale chest. Lavena felt his hands pull at the hooks of her corset and felt them separate. Lavena let out a whoosh of air as the bodice slid off her soft skin and she ran her
hands down his back. So smooth. Closing her eyes, she tried not to cry. Pressing her face against his shoulder, she tried so hard. Carver felt her
warm skin beneath his and kissed the pale curve of her neck. Lavena couldn't resist the passion, but she felt her insides drop. "Wait Carver." She cried out. He stopped kissing her neck and looked up at her. "What is it my queen?' He asked softly. She rolled her eyes and jumped off the bed. "Stop calling me that, it makes me feel icky." Lavena said, walking over to
the window and again pulling the drapes out to stare at the depressing
sight. Carver climbed off the bed and walked up behind her. His hand
wrapped around hers and he pulled the curtain shut, turning her to face him. "I know its not like the old country Levee, but its for our must understand that." Lavena nodded slowly and felt the first tear escape
her swelling eyes. Carver put his hand on her cheek and brush away the
single tear with his soft thumb. Lavena couldn't help but smile and she
looked down, his hand sliding off her face. "You know, it Is time for dinner, shall we join the others?" He asked looking at his watch and then back to her face. Lavena nodded and wiped at her eyes. 'You go now, I'll be down in a few minutes." Carver nodded and lifted her chin with his thumb and forefinger. 'Hey, cheer up. It will get better and soon, I promise you,
we will be able to go back to England." With that, he kissed her lips
quickly and turned. Lavena watched him put his shirt on and drape the leather jacket over his arm. "See ya in a few." He said and walked out the
door. The second it shut, Lavena fell to her knees. How could she keep
stringing him along like this? She was such a terrible not person. She hadn't been a person for centuries. She was nothing. Her vision blurred with tears. Tears she knew she had to make vanish before joining
her "family" for dinner that night.
