A/N: Yeah for waiting nearly a year to update.

Chapter Seven: Dance Demons Uh Oh!

Several weeks went by. Suni and Ayani resolved their differences in pure anime fashion (I don’t explain it) and were best friends once again. With the two of them reunited, they could concentrate on more important things than school or unexplained resolutions: the dance, and, more accurately, Suni’s date with Toshi.

“OK YOU NEED TO LIKE LOOK REALLY PRETTY!” Ayani astutely pointed out one day as they sat in Suni’s room, poring over fashion magazines. Around them lay the remains of Suni’s clothes closet.

“I know. I really want Toshi to think I’m hot,” she replied, sighing heavily and tossing the magazine aside. She lay back against her pillow and thought for a moment.

“HE ALREADY DOES!” Ayani screeched, her head growing to astronomic proportions and rising far above Suni.

“I know,” Suni replied, depressed. “I just need to find the perfect item. I bet Yuki will have the perfect dress,” she added glumly.

“Probably,” said Suni’s mother, walking in with a tray of cookies and milk.

Suni and Ayani fell over in a comical fashion.

“Mom, you aren’t helping,” Suni replied.

“Well, maybe if you asked for something pretty to wear, I could help you,” Suni’s mother replied coyly.

“MRS. SUNI’S MOM, WHAT DO YOU HAVE?” Ayani asked loudly.

“Let me show you.”

“Here,” Suni’s mom announced, holding up a dress.

It was gorgeous. It was a strapless silver dress with thousands of little diamonds running down the sides. On the front of it was a dark ruby pendant.

“OMG IT’S PERFECT!” Ayani shouted. Suni and her mom both fell over in a comical fashion.

“I agree,” Suni said. “I’ll wear it.”

The dance finally arrived. The night of the ball everyone was gathered at this huge palace that happened to throw dances all the time. As Suni and Toshi’s hoverlimo drove to the palace, Toshi and Suni sat in the back, talking quietly.

“I’m really glad I asked you to the dance,” he said.

“So am I,” Suni replied, her eyes glittering.

Their hoverlimo pulled up to the front gate, and the two of them stepped out into the cool evening. Everyone around them gasped at Suni’s dress. Even Yuki could be seen in the corner, her face quite red of with envy.

“I hate her so much!” Yuki muttered darkly to her date. A big sweat drop appeared on his forehead.

Suni and Toshi walked up the front steps, and there they met Ayani and Koshi. It was assumed they went together.

“O-M-G SUNI YOU LOOK SO GORGEOUS!” Ayani screeched. Koji pulled out a large mallet and smashed Ayani over the head with it.

“I agree. You look good,” Koji said softly. With that, they went into the dance.

Everyone had a great time. Toshi and Suni danced a lot, and Suni could definitely see that Toshi was having a great as time as she was. However, it was just then that disaster struck. The large dome over the dance floor suddenly smashed into a thousand glittering pieces, raining glassy death upon those below them. In the cloud of glass shards descended a scaly demon.

“Rawr! I’m probably terrifying! I serve to fill a plot hole!” it screeched.

Everyone began to run, and Suni was going to join Toshi in the mass exodus, but suddenly the mystical talking cat’s voice rang in her head.

Get back in there and kill the demon!” it meowed. Then it was gone.

“Uh, go ahead Toshi, I need to…get my purse.” To serve a plot device, Toshi allowed her to leave. Suni ducked behind a pillar and reached into her rather large purse, withdrawing her demon-slaying blade. With blade in hand, she walked down the steps onto the dance floor, facing her adversary.

“Rawr!” howled the demon.

“Rawr this!” Suni cried, leaping at the demon. Red and white streaks flew around her.

“Rawr!” cried the demon, flying at Suni. A similar background appeared.

They collided mid-air, Suni slashing this way and that. The demon fought admirably, but, of course, Suni proved the victor.

“Hisss! I’m not the last of my kind! There will be…others…like…me!” The demon roared one last time before bursting into flames. All that was left of it was…well, nothing was left of it. It was dead.

The students walked into the hall, looking at Suni in wonder. Toshi was in the forefront. Suni looked at them all, her cheeks turning sufficiently red.

“Uh…party on?” she said hesitantly. Everyone fell over in a comical fashion.

A great cry erupted from the group of people, and before you could say What The Fuck Just Happened, everyone was dancing and having a great time.

“You really are something,” Toshi whispered, planting a kiss on her lips.

Aww.
