You look right through me,
Can't see past the surface,
Just another face in a sea of people
Without a name, a personality
I am blocked out.
Because you don't want to see me
Don't want to know what you can't see.
You know there is more,
Beyond the surface.
But that scares you.
And knowing would make me a person,
More than just a face in a sea of people.
So you choose to ignore me,
To leave me as just a face.
You don't know me, nor I you.
For we have not even scratched the surface.
And as you walk away,
I feel a twinge of guilt
Because I did the same thing to you.
