The twilight colors dissipate
As daylight fades away
Each eye flutters for a moment
Under the exhaustion of today

As stars come from their dark abode
Darkness embraces us so warmly in a great maternal way
Stars twinkle within her
Standing out like sparkling sand
A navy cloak of silence falls to blanket our sweet land

Those who travel endlessly set down their heavy packs
And lie among the tall green grass to rest their weary backs
A cricket's chirp reaches our ears among the rolling plains
As all who listen know that this will not be seen again

The lives of all those on this earth
Revolve around our star
And while we can not reach it
Our arms reach out oh so far

We close our eyes and lose ourselves within the depths of great creation
It is a world that reaches out from our vast imagination
Yet as the twilight leaves us for the safety of evening sleep
A part of it remains with us that is always to keep
