Death?
By: Enelya Took

Death,

Such a funny thing is it not?
The body no longer moves,
the eye close forever,
the voice is soundless,
the lungs cease to take breath,
the mind thinks no more.
Yet we give it the name death.

Death.

Well what is in a name?
Why is it that we have such a fear of this one thing
yet we are always told that there is something better for us on the other
side.
So why the fear?
Is it that what we are lead to believe is all a lie,
a false hope,
a security blanket,
that dying is not all so bad?
Or is it that people just assume that there is always something better for
them.
We are all so pure that well should be allowed in to heaven,
or whatever it is called?
What if there was no such place?
Would the world turn into utter chaos,
or would it just be so afraid that it would sit in a dark corner
waiting for the inevitable to happen?

Death.

I merely pose the question
that have remained unanswered to me.

Why is death?
What is it?
Can it be stopped?
