When people see a finished work
They often find time to giggle and smirk.
If they see an error they jot it down,
When they find another they might even frown.
But you know quite well it’s no easy job
To sort through submissions that seem like a bog,
To put them together and make them look good
When to you it just seems like some weird, gnarled wood.
Pleading, requesting, recruiting and more,
Asking for stuff can be such a bore.
Deadline approaching, why does time fly?
Often you’d just like to scream, wail, or cry.
I know how it feels, I’ve often been there.
(I sometimes resort to pulling my hair.)
If they only knew how much work ‘tis to edit,
You’d think they would give us a little more credit.
