Praise be to God, who
Heals the wounded,
Raises the fallen,
and
Creates life out of decay

Countless eons' chaos
A throbbing, irate mass
Spoken into order
Before a week had passed

Years more than two thousand
Inundate with sin
Every single one redeemed
Before the third day's end

And two long years of trudging
And of slogging through the mire
In two weeks cleansed, the filth was gone
Dissolved by Holy Fire

Creator of the universe
From Your sight I fell
And there beneath the Shadows
In my rotting did I dwell

Acid tears, so black with hate
Burned tunnels through my soul
And my outstretched hands were empty
Seeking any solid hold

And just as time was up
When I had nothing left to lose
You broke my nonexistence
And then you lit the fuse

You doused me in Your gasoline
And then you lit the Match
The only way to rid the scum
To me and it detach

I cried and howled, I kicked and bit
And You patiently ignored
And ever oh so carefully
Filled the soul-holes I had bored

You cleaned me up and set me down
And You said, “We need to talk”
So we went to a peaceful place
And the Labyrinth we did walk.

I sobbed to you apology
You smiled and said, “Forgiven”
I held Your hand, a tiny child
Hand through which nail was driven

And presently the middle reached
We stood at Labyrinth's end
You held me in Your arms and said
“There are others to attend,

“But go now from this walk with Me
For I've healed you, whole way through
Share my Love with others
And know that I love you.”

And I knew that He had gone
But that He is with me still
And I knew that I could face the world
And I'd be warm through any chill

And as others wept for endings
So I rejoiced for Start
And forever I will praise you
With a never-ceasing heart
