Watch the crows swooping down
And ominously all around,
A fluttering black carbon halo
Of things that are to come.

See the building stooped in shadow
As it turns its back on the sun.
The dust proves that the world
Can never fully bask in light.

Look at her, standing there,
Hoping for a much brighter dawn
To bring her much better days.
No one is so lucky.

Observe how he steers her back
Into dystopia, into reality.
It seems as if the love between them
Is the only light remaining.

Watch that one cloud passing,
Airy and carefree as ever
Unlike the world upon which it casts no shadow.
Like a bright airship that cannot land.

Observe the monarch butterflies
Who flitter like satellite airships.
They know this world is doomed,
And so they take off and report back.
