Two days after Max and I officially became an ‘item’ it snowed. I love snow! I think it’s a very beautiful thing, the way it falls so daintily then melts as it touches your face. I guess I can appreciate snow a lot because we never had it back in the Philippines.

During Math class, I went through my work like the wind and ran outside with Franzi to play in the snow. I was already outside and soaking wet by the time I realized I was only wearing a t-shirt so I just shrugged and kept throwing snowballs. Then Franzi and I looked through one of the dirty glass cellar windows into the lockers and found that the boys were about to join us, so Franzi and I each grabbed an armful of snow and stationed ourselves to drop the snow right over the door. Right when the door below us was about to open, the door behind us opened too, and we looked over our shoulders which gave the boys, including Max, Freddy and Franzi’s boyfriend, Ryu, time to come run up the stairs and run after us.

“Plan B!” I shrieked, closely escaping them, running down the stairs and away towards the soccer field which was covered with snow that went knee-high up.

“Haha, I’m gonna get you!” called Max, who sounded like he was right behind me. I ran through the snow a little faster, but he caught my waist and made me trip. I shrieked at the top of my lungs and fell, crushing the fresh snow.

“I have you now, “ he said with a mischievous grin. He was on top of me, his knees on either side of my torso, he was leaning slowly towards my nervous, upturned face. Then his head twisted back as a miracle happened, and he was shot on the back with a snowball.

“Wer war das? (Who was that?)” he growled. I quickly sat up and pushed him off, thankful for the distraction.

“Das war ich, (That was me,)” answered Sebastian grinning back at Max.

“You have got to be kidding,” I muttered under my breath, tendrils of my wet, black hair clinging to my face and my clothes wet all over. I then stepped back a few steps, shocked that of all people, it was Sebastian who saved me from that kiss. God has a very funny sense of humour.

“Ich krieg’ dich zurück, du Arsch! (I’m getting you back, you ass!)” yelled Max, and was only more irritated as Sebastian sent him back a challenging look. Then Max shot after him armed with his famous rock-hard snowballs.

“Oh my God,”I thought, as they began going at each other. I stepped back a couple more times and bumped into Fred. I was so startled that I slipped and fell on my front. My breath was cut off for about a mili-second and my emotions went from shocked to pissed. I sighed, pulled myself up by my palms and glared at him, “Fred, please don’t do that.”

“Whew, you look wild!” he said, looking impressed.

I blushed, then looked down and pulled myself up the rest of the way, hitting Fred’s arm on my way inside.

“Hey, what’s up?” he asked, running backwards to catch up and see my face.

“Nothing,” I said, brushing a finger across my mouth.

“You’re not staying?”

“I’m cold Fred,” I answered, and with an afterthought I added, “and wet.”

“Suit yourself.”

I could see Max running after me from the corner of my eye and walked faster, slamming the door behind me. A few moments later, Max was already coming through the door.

“Will you go iceskating, with a bunch of us tomorrow?” he asked earnestly.

“Yeah, sure,” I said, not pausing to look him in the faceand heading towards the girl’s bathroom. Once I was inside, I closed the door wordlessly.
