This was a focus free-write that we had to do today in class that I think actually turned out pretty well. Here it is.

---

Freedom

Free - birds are free. Fish are free. People aren't free. They are caught up in the rhythm and pattern of each day, never breaking away, never changing. They are trapped in the 'now,' the 'what.' They can't see the 'tomorrow,' the 'why.' They stay within their own limitations, their own space in the world, without the freedom to change who they are or what they do. They are trapped in the daily repetition of life, unchanging, unceasing, unending, until there is no more will to live, to survive. The end. The don't have the freedom to make necessary changes to their life. They are stuck, mired in the hopelessness of life, limited by society's thoughts about who they are, and who they should become. They have no free will. They are as mindless as robots, trapped, unable to escape the daily struggle to fit in, to be what others say they should be. They are not free.

I hope you enjoyed. As always, comments, suggestions, and constructive criticism are appreciated. Flames will be cast into the fiery chasm from whence they came, and anything else will be read and (possibly) enjoyed.

Later Days
