"Oh my god!" Cokup said leaning back into Amy's sofa. He'd known it had been serious because she'd called him Peter, But he never would have imagined this. "Right in front of you?" he asked. Amy nodded and wiped more tears from her eyes. "Is that all they did?" Cokup asked, feeling guilt creep into him as Amy continued crying. This was a percentage his fault. He'd gotten Bizzy thinking 'Threeway', but it had all been as a mess And a joke. Cokup hadn't meant to introduce Bizzy to the inevitable mistake That would break him up with the girl of Cokup's dreams and send her running into his open arms.
Or had he?
"I don't even know!" Amy choked and suddenly began hiccupping. Cokup looked at her, properly looked at her and knew this was killing her.
"You mean they could have..." Cokup trailed off, he didn't want to say it.
"Fucked?" Amy chimed in staring at him Cokup looked taken back.
"I thought girl's liked it better when we call it 'making love'!" she leaned closer to him and tried to ask him to hold her, without saying anything. Cokup knew what she meant, He'd known her so long that he could read her like a book.
"Yeah, well that wasn't making love, Cok, if they did" Amy mumbled and closed her eyes "That was just good old fashioned fucking!"
Cokup stroked Amy's hair as she lay across the couch with her head On his lap. She looked up at him,
"Peter, Lie to me! Tell me it was all a dream!"
Cokup smiled, "Dorothy, it's all just been a big bad dream, you just click your magical ruby slippers together twice and everything will be fine!"
"Liar!" Amy smiled. She felt good for a moment and silently thanked Cokup for being able to make her smile a sincere smile.
Cokup watched her smile and felt that he had done something good for once in his life.
He'd given her one moment of comfort through all the pain.
And right now that was the best anyone could do.
"Peter" She said.
"Yeah?"
"Thanks!" She said and took hold of his hand. She closed her eyes. Cokup waited until she was asleep and he whispered,
"I love you!" and kissed her forehead.
He sat there all night with her watching her sleep.
He knew that at least while she was asleep, Reality couldn't hurt her.
Next morning, Kim awoke to the sound of her mobile ringing. She sat up and rubbed her eyes. Her head was banging and her mobile wasn't helping.
She grabbed her phone and answered it, only to shut it up and silently vowed Never to drink Vodka again as she croaked,
"Hello?"
"Kim is that you? You sound like you're choking on something!"
she cleared her throat and ran her hand through her mess of black hair.
"Yeah, it's me. What's up Gaz?"
"Nothing much, I just wanted to talk to you!" Gaz said, grinning broadly even though she couldn't see him,
"Gaz, when have you ever just wanted to talk to me?" she teased.
"Now... No, I don't know, I just, I wish you'd talk to me more and I wanted to know how planning my surprise birthday party is going!"
"What? Who told you?" Kim asked with a lobsided smile.
"Cokup, I pulled it out of him though, so he is not to be hurt!" Gaz said as he walked across his bedroom to his wardrobe.
"Yeah, ok, ok. Well it hasn't been hard to plan and plus it's a half welcome home party for Ritchie because he'll be home from Ibiza that day!" Kim smiled and got shakily to her feet.
"I have to share my party? Awh now that's not fair!" Gaz drawled and grabbed his Cream 'McKenzie' hoody.
"Awh poor little rich boy, I forgot you never had to share anything in your life!" Kim said, glancing in her bedroom mirror. She looked a mess. Eyeliner and Mascara stains down her cheeks. Her eyes bloodshot.
"Hey its not my fault my father's company is successful and . Wait, your beloved boyfriend is the exact same poor little rich boy as me and I don't see you slagging him, I mean come on, our houses are across the road from one another!" Gaz said, not knowing how much that comment ate into Kim at that moment.
Kim looked away from her mirror.
"Gaz" She said, her tone of voice dead serious.
"What? What's wrong?" Gaz said, pressing the loud speaker button as he pulled the hoody over his head.
"Me and Ritchie are fucked up!" she said, feeling her eyes beginning to grow heavy with a fresh batch of tears.
"How? What? When?" Gaz asked, picking up the phone again.
"Well.." Kim began.
It felt weird to be talking to Gaz about this, after all, she had once been in love with him, and she could still see why she had been.
"Can I come over?" Kim asked "D'ya want to come over?" Gaz asked, at exactly the same moment.
They both smiled.
"Okay" Gaz said, picking up the remote to his stereo and switching on 'Tupac'.
"I'll call over in about an hour, I have to have a shower and swallow a box of 'Anadin'!" Kim said,
as she wandered out of her room and into the bathroom.
Gaz smiled and hummed along to 'Changes'
"No more Vodka for Kim!"
"See ya!" Kim said, rolling her eyes.
"Bye!"
Kim hung up and switched on her shower.
Gaz hung up and lay back onto his bed. He threw the phone down beside him and checked his pockets: Chewing gum, twenty euro note and two condoms.
He placed one of the condoms back into his pocket and threw the rest of the stuff on the floor..
He got up switched off the stereo and wandered downstairs.
Upstairs his phone got a message from Bizzy.
Amy opened her eyes.
"Hey!" Cokup said and handed her a glass of 'Andrews'. She accepted it and sat up in her bed. She took a sip and winced at the taste. She looked up at him confused,
"How did I get here?"
"Oh. I carried you!" Cokup said smiling and sat down on the edge of her bed. she smiled at him and then suddenly the pain in her head hit her and her mind gave her a re run of last night's events. She took a mouthful from the glass. She was silent for a moment and then asked,
"My Ma and Da home yet?"
Cokup ran his hand through his hair and said, "No. but they rang, and apart from being surprised that I answered the phone, they said they'll be back some time tomorrow!"
Amy smiled and sighed slightly. She needed time to herself. She looked into her glass, listening to the fizz as it died. She took another mouthful.
"Why?" Amy asked, staring into thin air.
"I don't know!" Cokup replied, knowing she was asking why Bizzy had done this.
"Is Keisha so much prettier?" She whispered into her glass.
"No!" Cokup said sternly.
"Does he love her?" She said, suddenly looking directly into Cokup's eyes. Cokup dodged her gaze. He hated seeing her in pain, He hated lying to her and he still couldn't believe Bizzy had done this to her. Amy took Cokup's delayed answer and doge of her gaze as he either didn't know or he did know and didn't want to tell her. Amy took a deep breath and drank down the rest of the 'Andrews'. She shuddered at the taste and leaned over and placed the empty glass onto her desk beside her bed. She turned back to Cokup and exhaled quietly.
" Ok, Cok. Tell me the truth," she paused and waited for him to look at her, "How bad do I look?"
Cokup looked at her; her sleepy blue eyes, her messy yet perfect blonde hair. She was still wearing her jeans and top from the previous night.
"You look great, you look better than great... You look good!"
Amy smiled again. Cokup had a habit of making her do that.
"Thanks!" Amy said rolling her eyes, "Now I feel special!"
"You shouldn't feel all that special, it's turning into a pretty common thing to happen in a teenage relationship!" Cokup paused, Amy was staring at him.
"I mean, it happened to my friend Bubbles-" Amy cut him off,
"You know a girl named Bubbles who's boyfriend cheated on her?" She asked and leaned closer to him.
"A guy!" He corrected her.
"A guy called Bubbles?"
"Yeah, well actually her real name's Ian!"
"What do mean her real name's Ian?"
Cokup shook his head, "Never mind, it's too complicated!"
"Okay.." Amy said, lowering her eyebrows and staring at him as she threw back her quilt and moved herself so she was sitting right next to him. He smiled at her.
She looked at him; his brown hair, highlighted blue, his brown puppy dog eyes staring straight into hers.
"Peter, kiss me!" Amy said, a look of desperation in her crystal blue eyes. "What? No. Aim, come on you know you're only doing this cause you feel shit and you want me to make you feel better" He took a breath, "It's not fair to me!" His eyes trembling slightly as he spoke.
"How is it not fair to you?" She asked as she took a hold of his hand. She ached for him to touch her. She needed to feel loved. Right now she felt hopeless.
Cokup couldn't believe he was going to tell her,
"I love you! And it isn't fair having you kiss me and in your mind wish it was Bizzy. And I care too much about Bizzy to do this to him!" Cokup felt so bad just as his words sank into Amy and he watched tears beginning to drizzle from the corners of her eyes. She burst into proper tears. He brought a finger to her lips to hush her and then he kissed her, With more passion and more love than he'd ever kissed anyone in his life.
"Come on in!" Gaz smiled as he opened the door. Kim walked in and he shut the door behind her. Every time Kim walked through Gaz's house, it always reminded her of that party, That party that brought Ritchie and her together.
She shook her head.
Gaz walked across his amazing hall to his stairs and stopped at the bottom,
"You don't mind going up to my room do ya?" He said smiling.
Kim smiled but her glum eyes betrayed her.
"No, but there better not be any other girls up there though cause I don't do the whole threesome thing!"
they both began climbing the stairs. They eventually reached Gaz's room and as Gaz opened the door for her, Kim realised how gorgeous he was, she'd long forgotten. With his Brownie Blonde hair, his tanned skin, his chocolate speckled caramel colour eyes that were just so hard to say no to, his cream 'McKenzie' hoody and light Blue jeans. They both walked inside. Kim sat at the end of his bed. Gaz sat down beside her and with the stereo remote in hand he switched on 'Eminem'. Kim rolled her eyes, she thought 'Eminem' was pure rubbish.
"Okay, so what happened?" Gaz asked turning to her.
Kim got up and wandered over to the window and began, "I was babysitting Kayla and I got really drunk-"
"Always good!" Gaz cut in.
"And I rang Ritchie and asked him to some over and well what I really should have told you first is that Me and Ritchie haven't had sex yet!"
"Oh" Gaz said, not taking her words in. then they hit him.
"What?" He yelled, looking at her back. She turned to look at him,
"Why are you so surprised?"
"I, I, I not, I mean I'm not, I just, well I expected you's two to be screwing the brains out of each other-"
"Gaz" Kim said glaring at him before looking back out the window, straight across the road at Ritchie's house.
"Oh I'm sorry, I thought you's would have made love by now, now there you happy?"
"He won't!" She said and walked back over and sat next to Gaz, "And when I was drunk I asked him why he could sleep with Abby and not with me?"
"OH" Gaz said. He knew she was hurting. He gave her a hug and pulled away from her to give her a smile.
She kissed him. He was surprised. He pulled away and stared at her as if to question was she sure. Her eyes cried make love to me. He kissed her cheek and down the nape of her neck and slowly unbuttoned her top.
He kissed her left shoulder and pulled her to him. He kissed her lips and she pushed him downwards into his bed.
