The year was 2007. A gorgeous gothic guy was walking down Main Hall. Black hair, black trench coat, black sunglasses, black shirt, black pants, and the second coolest black boots ever.
He sat up on the edge of the bulletin board and pulled out his laptop. He opened his AIM account, and found a specific buddy on it. He merely typed seven words into a chat with this person, "Good morning, you hot goth techie chick."
Across the hallway, a gorgeous girl looked up from her own laptop and grinned. She was the female equivalent of the gothic person sitting on the bulletin board across the hallway from her. Except her boots were THE coolest ever.
She continued to smile and said to him, "Get you lunar ass over here!" The person in the trench coat didn't say anything, just put away his laptop, and moved across the hallway. As he sat down, he moved up closer to the girl like a cat seeking warmth. She reciprocated the gesture by cuddling up against him.
The moment of silence was broken by the girl saying, "You need to stop taking sick days, Jason. I missed you."
Jason looked up for a moment with a light in his eyes, as if to express an apology. Then he swooped up into her face and kissed her. They wrapped their arms around each other and remained in a motionless kiss for a long time.
Finally, Jason pulled away, saying, "I'm sorry, Hikaru, we can't spend our ENTIRE lives like that." She kissed him again. "Well, maybe the majority of our lives."
Hikaru became serious for a moment and pulled up Jason's sleeves to inspect his arms. In response, Jason said, "All those scars are old. I haven't tried to slit my wrists since that last time when you caught me."
Hikaru continued to inspect Jason's wrists, making sure there were no new scars. After a while, it became obvious that she had finished her task and was merely playing with her boyfriend. Jason remained silent, however, simply enjoying the feeling of Hikaru's fingers moving along his arm.
However, he felt he needed to say something when Hikaru's arm began its ascent up his sleeve. "Uh, dear, if you want to wear the trench coat, just say so."
Hikaru remained silent using her newfound leverage, with her arm as much in his sleeve as his arm was, to bring him even closer. Finally, Jason understood the objective.
With this knowledge, he kissed Hikaru again. And again. And again. He began to migrate beyond her lips, kissing her cheeks, her chin, her brow, her forehead, and her neck.
Suddenly, Dr. Krissen's door opened. Jason and Hikaru barely reacted at all. As Dr. Krissen emerged from her room and saw the two teenagers practically sprawled over each other, she muttered, "I liked it a lot better when you two would become nervous and self-conscious when I came out of my room."
Hikaru tried to apologize, an activity made extremely difficult by kissing. Dr. Krissen waited a full minute for Hikaru to try and get the words out, but finally said, "Nevermind..." and walked away.
During their break for air, Jason tried to casually ask, "Okay, you've been checking my arms every morning for new scars. What about you?"
Hikaru said nonchalantly, "I'm done with suicide. Ever since you caught me, hon." Jason looked at her with the closest thing to a glare he ever gave her. Hikaru rolled up her sleeves to prove her point.
Jason pounced on the opportunity to copy Hikaru from minutes before when she was inspecting his arms.
Hikaru muttered in a very contented way, "You cheater..."
