I’ve been waiting

For it to rain

(a perpetual rush of water

washing away the memory of you).

I am anticipating

A big thunderstorm

(I like the juxtaposition

between the crying sky

bringing forth much chaos outside

and the peaceful warmth

within my bedroom).

I’ve been waiting

For it to rain

(and at last it has).
